Premium smoke effects only work on asphalt roads?

Apologies if this is the wrong forum, but I recently bought the ultimate edition upgrade (I like to think of this as a tip jar after the hundreds of hours of play) and I've noticed that all of the premium smoke effects only seem to work on asphalt roads. This is a special problem to me because I primarily play linkups, which usually occur in offroad locations.

I'd like to show off my cool effects, but if they don't even show up in offroad locations such as the jefferson quarry, edgewater coalyard, and other offroad linkup locations, this seems like a silly oversight?

I know this isn't game-breaking or anything, but I did buy this to show support to the kaizen dev team, and I would like to show this off to people playing linkups. If it doesn't show up for 50% (or more) linkups, I feel a little silly for purchasing this, since I spend pretty much all of my time in the game playing linkups.
