Yes we know it's an arcade racer BUT that doesn't mean using a $4000 kitted out direct drive or $200 belt & gear driven setup doesn't make the game more fun because trust me it does. It can also have proper feedback lol. Wheel tugging, pedals vibrating from huge braking loads... Just because it's arcade doesn't change the fact that it's a car.
Plus the modders from Unite eventually make killer NFS mod packages. They let you pick a realism level from basically NFS to something more like Forza Horizon which while not a sim it's handling model is based on one with everything dialed up a notch or 5. So you still need to drive in a realistic manner or you will either crash or spin-out constantly. They also add more tuning options, visual enhancements, ai enhancements and tons more so once you beat the game their mods extend it's life significantly.
Now the reason there likely isn't support is because it's built on Frostbite... Unfortunately. I'd be more happy with the Xbox 360 most wanted engine and I was never a fan of criterions NFS engine but frostbite isn't really the best engine for racing games, mostly due to it's performance in open world games and it would take a good amount of work to add support for all the wheels that are popular and there are quite a few.
I think they would do it if sales were better but NFS hasn't been a top seller since Rivals. So they have to weigh whether it's worth investing the time and it's not an insignificant amount especially if you want it to feel right across even just a few wheels.
At the end of the day there is always a way to get a wheel to work but it's not as accurate or as fun as native support because you lose out on the feedback part.
So do yourself a favor and stop arguing against something that would make the game better for a large number of people and also something that they won't buy at all without support.. at least not until they can get the deluxe edition and all dlc for $12... Which just creates this repeating cycle of ea releasing a new NFS but only going half way if they want to be competitive again and NOW is the time to strike. Horizon 5 is great but it's a stop gap game... Basically filler and an expansion of horizon 4 because most of the team is focused on helping turn10 with the new engine, car models, and then taking that engine and making it work as an open world title. The next horizon is going to be a big leap over the FH5 with a big visual & audio upgrade, all new car models and a pretty significantly enhanced physics engine and driving experience, better netcode and a better campaign. So strike while striking is good because there isn't any other real competition and competition should make both series better but if NFS is average game after game then everyone's motivation to push hard goes away.
Now enjoy this pretty picture and let it calm you. Think about driving it in REAL life but oddly... With a controller instead the fun way.
I hope atleast we can change buttons configuration for controllers to our lickings not the standard thing that we had at heat, i like to shift gears with A and X buttons 🙄
