Absolutely awful. Yeah, let's crank up the traffic level. Brilliant. Handling is still horrible. It's probably the worst sounding racing title on a surround system. This is just NOT the NFS I know. I'm done with NFS. Enough is enough. Uninstalling now.
I'll start with the handling model. What even is this? This pseudo on the rails nonsense has to go. It's 2023 and NFS car handling is the worst it's ever been. Cars handled better in Hot Pursuit II and III than they do in this. Should have stuck with the Payback handling model at the very least. This is just awful.
The game sounds like it's run through some kind of really cheap multi-band compressor plugin with the attack set REAL short and THEN slammed through a limiter with ALL the gain reduction. It's terrible. I thought Forza Horizon 5 was bad, but this takes the cake. I'm running this through a pretty healthy Dolby atmos rig >> Denon X4700H feeding Klipsch Reference Premiere speakers all around. 4x 8000F, 4x 500SA, 1x 600C, 2x SPL120. It's all squishy. Way too much horrible EDM style engineering going on. WHAT'S WITH HITTING THE SUBWOOFER EVERY TIME I SHIFT?! WHAT'S WITH DECREASING THE VOLUME OF THE ENGINES AS THEY GET LOUDER?! Take your loudness war style engineering and stick it. Real deep.
