Volume 7 feedback thread
I've been playing it all day. I'd say it's a home run. By far the best update we've had yet.
Mustang Dark Horse. Gorgeous car, love the handling. The criterion body kit is perfect.
Drag racing...
Surprise, surprise. Me talking about NFS Unbound? Well, there's actually a reason, and I don't know why anyone else here hasn't noticed yet.
Volume 7 has been out for a few days now, and it actually gave me an excuse to restart the Story, this time with the Silvia as the intro car, which in my opinion has the best Legendary Customs body kit of the intro cars.
The reason why I'm posting this is something that I just cannot understand why Criterion did this and for what reason.
Before I closed the game after completing the intro, I wanted to check the requirements to unlock the Audis that came with Volume 6. But then, I came to a horrible realization:
THE AUDIS WEREN'T THERE.
I didn't play Volume 6 that much, but are you telling me that players that don't play a Volume will never get to unlock the cars from the Speed Pass, in this case the Audis? Why can't you at least add an unlock challenge for players who missed the cars in the Speed Pass, just like Infinity Ward is doing it in the latest MW games? It's just wasted potential, and also a punch in the face for players that don't regularly play Unbound, because they're missing out on cars that are new to the game.
Imagine the Audi R8 is the absolute best car for the new Drag mode and lots of players like me didn't get it in the last Speed Pass. Those players will never ever win a Drag race, and if a new car has a Drag race unlock challenge, then this car is forever locked.
I'm normally no one to judge someone's decisions, but here, I have to judge the decision. It's a huge disappointment, and players like me who aren't regulars to NFS Unbound might never see the new cars that are featured in the Speed Pass...
Please, Criterion. Think about it, and correct the huge mistake you made.
Thank you,
Nico
PS: Do you mind if you also add AI drivers to online mode? Some playlists might be ghost towns like the Porsche Unleashed playlist, and if players didn't unlock the Taycan yet, they might never because there are no players there...
If you didn't play enough to unlock the Audi r8, you'll have to wait until they release the Catch-Up pack (couple weeks).
I'm not sure I understand your logic. The speed pass gives rewards to people for playing the game during a set period of time. If they don't unlock all the things they want during that time, then they 'failed', right? I think what you're saying is that you want all the challenges for all the speed passes to not expire and always be available? Presumably Speed Pass is meant to be an incentive for people to play regularly. If you don't play, you don't get the rewards? It wouldn't be fair to people who played to unlock all those things within the time limit, to make them available forever.
I mean it sucks that you can't unlock the r8 now, as this car is currently meta in S, and very competitive in A+ and S+. (I'm sure you know that already)
I think your only choice is to purchase the Catch-Up pack when it's released in a week or two. I'm missing some cars too, from the early volumes. I didn't play during that time. So I'm in the same boat as you. If I want those cars now, I'll have to pay for them.
