Volume 7 feedback thread

I've been playing it all day. I'd say it's a home run. By far the best update we've had yet.

  • Mustang Dark Horse. Gorgeous car, love the handling. The criterion body kit is perfect.
  • Drag racing - Seems fun so far. This is new to me (didn't play all the older NFS games)
  • Drift racing - I'm not a big drifter, but I'm having fun with it.
  • The new 'league'. More stuff to do in freeroam = great. I like the idea of having the goals that must be accomplished as a community.
  • New rims - I love these rims. The reactive ones, the LCDs. Come on guys, these are just too cool.
  • New driving effects - Same thing - too cool. I only have the Lava one unlocked so far, but that one that looks like ice cubes coming off the tires? That's badass.
  • New Tracks - haven't tried them all yet, but very happy to have new tracks.

I have some criticisms too, but they're minor. Overall they did an amazing job on Vol. 7 if you ask me.

  • Add the new content to singleplayer. The new drifting tires, all the new racetracks since launch and of course the new league.

    I don't mind if it's only unlocked by completing the story - just add something to singleplayer. It's about time to give something to the singleplayer community.

    I don't play SP anymore but it's great that so many ppl seemingly do. The update should hit SP too, yes.

    Same. At minimum I wish all the tracks (including the new drift) would be added to single player, as I do practice them there from time to time.

  • This post is exclusively regarding the existing additions to Volume 7.
    Will do a feature wishlist in a future post, so I'll hold off from adding requests in this post.

    Regarding Drift Pro Modes and Handling:

    The PROS:
    - Overall improvement from the previous Drift Event system.
    - Good variety of tracks. good length on playlists.
    - Makes a wider variety of existing vehicles useful.

    - As of now, feels fair, one can win even with rental vehicles.

    The *:

    - The physics, while fun, are a bit too "on ice" there's a lack of grip for controlled movement in certain scenarios
    - Due to the physics, Traffic becomes a rather frustrating challenge while on events, without outright removing the traffic (nullifying the challenge), A lower frequence of cars could be implemented to alleviate this fact, either that, or Remove it but put in place stationary obstacles themed after street racing.
    - Colossus has been made a Drift Only Layout. Instead of it being playable as a race course.

    Regarding Drag Mode:

    The PROS:

    - Overall the mode is very fun and fast paced
    - Gives use to Higher Speed Builds where they were extremely situational before

    The *:
    - Can feel very unstable or janky, specially on races involving jumps
    - Lane Switching makes people unable to evade certain traffic cars, especially after a Crash has already happened
    - There's a strange hiccup in the gears around the starting 2 gears where the powerband falls for a second, resulting in sometimes unpredictable shift timing
    - Most 1/4 Mile Drag Races are only available to Open Playlists, making it difficult to practice them.
    - Drafting feels useless in Drag racing, as it gains you no Boost, or drafting bonus like the original Underground Drag racing
    - The Burnout system at the beggining lacks difficulty and depth, and maintaining optimal temperature leads to the wheels moving in an unatural way

    Regarding Underground Playlists:


    Whilst they are fun for a skill challenge of PvP, I do wish some of the races featured in these playlist were found in some custom car playlist, overall do enjoy
    them and I'm hoping to see more Preset Car Races.

    Regarding New Additions:

    Wheels: it's nice finally seeing new additions to the wheel roster, freshes up some old builds of mine. However it comes into my attention that the new SSRs and the Work Equips are not available to vehicles who don't have 17 inch wheels or smaller.

    I've also noticed the new M3 Drift Custom has Work Meister L1s, is there a possibility to get these wheels available in the future?

    I've also noticed some SSR Wheels that we don't have in-game appear in the level 230-239 Icon, are these planned to be used in the future?

    LED Rims and "Spinners" : Not much of my cup of tea, but there's some really fun designs within, I do wish the spinners properly behaved like the real ones, and in general it would've been nice to have some actual Spinner Models.

    Driving Effects: Still not too much of a fan of the driving effects not looking like they used to, it has some cool concepts, but I wish there was more driving effects like from the first Volumes, or that the new effects at least gave visual feedback when Using Boosts

    Other/Misc: The License Plates are mostly fun, like the new LED plates, some do have a bit of an unnapealing pattern design with the text clashing with the backgrounds, the license plate holders are top notch though.

    The Underground League: Like the idea, but the races are not as difficult as I would have enjoyed them, in fact they're not difficult at all, hoping future races are at least a bit more interesting.

    PvP Playlists: I haven't experienced much in these for the reason that the Playlist glitch is back and my selection won't link me to the correct playlist, hoping this can be fixed soon

    Regarding New Vehicles:

    Ford Mustang Dark Horse 2024: Fun car to drag and drif around in, however it's driving is a bit weird, drifts are too broad and a bit unstable, it's hard to race with it, 6th gear is also painfully tall, to the point of it being a detrimental aspect of the car.
    Styling-wise, the bodykits are really nice, with the strange absence of the GTD Front Bumper for the kit, I also should mention that RTR rims are no available to the Dark Horse, which is a shame

    BMW M3 Touring 2024: I haven't gotten enough time using this vehicle, but it handles nicely as far as I've driven it. The bodykits are hit and miss, with some strange placements for spoilers for the Avante Wing and Drag Spoiler.

    I also noticed a few new stickers on the Drag M3... it would be nice to have those in the livery editor.

    Overall

    It's a cool update that has given a lot of used to some previously unloved cars; Added variety to the gameplay of the game...
    However it has quite a few amount of technical flaws and bugs that I hope get addressed soon in any upcoming updates

    Next time I'll touch upon in more wishes and questions in another thread

  • Bugs ive noticed so far:

    • Mustang Dark Horse color switches from its factory silver/blue color to a dark purple 
    • Whilst trying to access a certain playlist, i end up getting thrown in another one instead
    • Lane switching in drag mode tends to either not work when i want to switch or will throw my car into another lane without me doing anything
    • URL missions requirements will sometimes stop right before being met or will even reset
    • Voice narration for homescreen has returned & wont go away after already being off
    • Drift scoring tends to end without changing direction, wiping out or hitting something
    • PC Users Losing HUD functionality 

    Improvements/QOL:

    • Incorporating OST’s from previous games & adding them into unbounds catalog 
    • Incorperating menu music from previous games as well
    • Allow us to create custom radio stations for current & previous game/menu music to allow for a more customizable experience 
    • Including REAL Spinner/Floater rims 

    *I do appreciate the LED ones though*

    • Tab-Sorting turbofan rims by type (Infinity/LED/Flat/Transparent/Concave) to make rim shopping more accessible 
    • Tab-Sorting license plates by type (State/NFS Cities/DLC) to make license plate shopping more accessible 
    • Add new meetup layout with all the new AI filled events to post progression story mode
    • Add Freeroam URL events to Story
    • Incorporate rebuilt UG1 & UG2 Body kits for the older cars (ex melissas eclipse)
    • Incorperate an UG1 inspired rolling customization options
    • Bring back Junkman Parts as a way to prestige or uncap currently maxed out cars
    • Switch to locking cars behind an in game price point instead of challenge barriers
    • FIX MISSED CHECKPOINT SENSITIVITY

    Thank you so much for your time & consideration, i know there may be a lot of effort/legalities behind somethings leaving certain request unavailable (completely understandable) however i just wanted to be a voice for the community to help better shape nfs for the future. Anyways GO KAIZEN TEAM!!!!

    (P.S, I know it may seem too late to request additions to the Underground theme as the update is out already, however the community would rather see something late than not at all 🙂

  • Game became really boring for racers and long term players that already done everything and just wanna race. Drift and drag was fun some time but Vol 6 was top tier for racers. PVP lacks racing playlists and the ones with loaner cars gets boring quickly. Not mentionning how the playlist selection is buggued, this made quite a few people quit actually.

    Now for the bugs and exploits :

    Drag suffer from gearbox exploits where manual players cheese the last gear on some cars.

    On drag races with sharper turns some cars will lose control themselves and send you into the wall despite not doing any joysticks inputs.

    Drag with low deadzone is unplayable, direction is way too sensitive.

    The perfect shift indicator is not right. The HUD isn't accurate on lot of cars.

    Theres a strange hiccups all car does in drag and it feels really weird.

    Drift pro suffer an exploit where players just go backward at start to score more points.

    Also the transparent bodykits are still * up, people been asking a fix for this for months since several volumes. Those kits we're looking awesome before you broke them ! 

    Driving effects needs to be applied 2 times on the car because they revert to the original for some reasons.

    Dark Horse suffer from clipping. 

    Those are my main concerns, theres obviously much more to add but I think those are the most important things.

    This won't fix anything in the game because its infrastructure is broken. It is constantly polished to get more sales, but the man who buys it regrets it. I've owned the game since it first came out, and none of the bugs I reported have been fixed since then.


    Another problem is that whatever new thing is added to the game forces the player to constantly play what is added. Does the same race have to be held over and over again just because one car is added?

    Anyway, PVP lobbies work randomly, they open whatever they want.

    Drag racing is wrong, the race starts in front of the trees in the middle of the road. 3 people on the street, 1 person in front of the tree. Where will this man go?

    Drift cars have incomplete equipment. Is it possible to drift with just tires? Depending on the drift, there must be suspension and differential. The car is sliding, there is no power to push it. The previous NFS HEAT game had it all, drift suspension showcase suspension, tires, differential. The newer game has fewer options than before.

    I don't even need to count the remaining dozens of classic bugs, 

    I've been reporting this bug since vol.3.

    In garage but wanted.

    exit garage but locked all others homes.

    And outside garage heat level 3. Sometimes 4 somtimes 5..

    Another one, car stoplght very ugly.

    Another one since vol 6, every stickers around at boxes.

  • As promised, this post will be more about Questions and Suggestions for additions and changes for future Volumes

    I won't be touching upon car additions or requests assuming these have already been set in stone for the future of the game.

    With that in mind, here's a few Additions I've had in mind:

    Variable Communication Wheel:

    While the current iteraton of the communication wheel is fine on it's own, I personally have one issue with the feature that I would like to see expanded in a quality of life update

    I'd like the Communication to be "Variable" per Activity, this functionality is partially in game as the first two slots have preset prompts that vary depending if a player is in freeroam, a chase, linkup, race, among others

    My proposal is to expand in this idea and allow the player to customize a whole Communication Wheel per activities with all slots on the wheel being customizeable.

    This way, one can have a set of 10 useful Phrases in different scenarios and actually use a lot more of the provided options in a more dynamic way!

    I already juggle between a small amount of prompts before, and the first two options that are preset are not always something I'd like to say while on a race (I'd rather say "My Bad" as "Oops" sometimes sounds like I'm being sarcastic.)

    Tweaks to Car Unlock Requirements:
    One of the more Controversial additions to Unbound that I've seen being talked around in circles is how time consuming some of the unlock requirements are to complete for some people, I personally liked the unlock requirements as it gave me objectives to aim for and cars to build and try,  so here's my suggestion on how I'd tweak them so it's a bit easier for players to finish their tasks:

    - Decrease the playlists requirement in half
    While some are easy to do like 5 playlists with a certain car, The challenges that ask for 20 or more playlists to finish might be a bit too much for the overall playerbase, I suggest the maximum of playlists needed to unlock certain cars to be 15.

    - Replace the Takedown Challenges with Police Takedowns
    There's a few cars that have Takedown Challenges, these are overall agreed upon to be a bit problematic as it encourages dirty driving, and it also is difficult to be granted a Takedown as they are very situational. Swapping the requirement from Players to Cops provides for a more entertaining challenge and much less frustrating than taking down players, for both ends.

    Racing Helmets:

    I see that Racer X seems to be sporting a Racing Helmet
    I'd love to use some helmets or masks Myself to add a bit more to my character, as in Racing, Helmets are also a way for people to express themselves with a variety of designs and colors

    I know my friend GT-RS Would love to sport a blacked out helmet like Racer X's as in everything he plays he always wears a helmet or a mask as his trademark so, think about it please!

    Ideas for NFS Legend Customs:

    If the final 2 Updates' Legendary Customs haven't been decided yet I'd like to propose some to keep in mind I would love to see...

    - Ryo Watanabe's Lancer Evolution X

    - Ana Rivera's 350Z

    - Roberto Rivera's Camaro

    - Sean McAlister's Bel Air

    - Mia Townsend's RX8

    Decals from the Past:

    I've noticed that over the years since 2015 a lot of Legacy Stickers that were added back then have started slowly disappearing with each entry.

    Most of which I refer to are classic decal designs from NFS Prostreet, NFS Underground, Most Wanted, among a few others.
    Why not bring them back alongside a few more surprises from the past? 

    I still miss the Dragon Decal from Ryo's Evo that was in 2015... Just Sayin'

    NFS Legends Themed Clothing:

    Since a big push for these updates seems to be the Legacy of NFS I'd like to point out one addition that might be cool for future Speed Pass Items, such as clothing referencing NFS Characters from the past like:

    - NFS Most Wanted/Carbon/Undercover Protagonist Themed Clothes

    - Ryan Cooper Helmet and Outfit

    - Darius' Jacket

    - Razor's Outfit (with Tatoos)

    - Ana's Outfit

    - Jackson Rourke's Outfit

    - Neville's Getup

    And why not (for the funsies)...

    - Tyler Morgan's T-shirt

    -  Joe's T-shirt

    -  A Tess Skin

    Performance Tweaks to certain cars:

    I am aware that at this point in time there's only one handling designer in the team, so I'm not going to ask for a complete overhaul of the handling model regarding the new handling, the question is... Could we at least see some tweaks to a few of the lower performing cars' handling? Is it possible to introduce a small "ballast" system where some outperforming cars get their performance index rised up a bit without outright nerfing their overall performance? Maybe similar for lower performing vehicles?

    These are just suggestions as I'm aware this takes a lot of time to tweak

    Enkei Rims:

    Just specifically wanted to point out that we've had the Enkei brand on modern NFS titles ever since NFS 2015, but they have never been added to any game other than No Limits...Even though we have a sticker to represent them in the livery editor.

    I really like a lot of Enkei models, so seeing at least one of them in the future would be very appreciated.

    More Brake Calipers:

    I find it odd that we have stickers for "Stop Tech Brakes", (And a certain car from the update seems to sport a very enticing "Endless" Sticker)
    Yet the Only brake calipers we can apply to cars are Brembo Brake calipers... Even if it's just a logo stuck into the six piston generic caliper, could we see these being added to the car customization in the future?

    Here's the list of the brands that are currently in the game (Credits/Decals/Preset Liveries) that make brakes:

    - Stop Tech (Sticker)

    - Endless (Credits and Preset Livery)

    - Wildwood (Credits)

    More Aftermarket Decals:

    There's a few brands that exist in-game and are even shown in preset cars that we can't really use in the livery editor, the aforementioned Brembo Brakes can be equipped to cars but can't be represented in cars, I find that slightly disappointing.
    So far these are the brands I've noticed are in the game's credits and preset cars, however they don't have any stickers:

    Last Adding Notes...

    I know this one is technically a bug report and that should be in said in said Forum Category, but as a very Active player the FTCL5001 Bug is starting to cause me constant battles with maintaining connection to the game, or even play in it as a whole... actively punishing me for adding more cars into my garage...

    It's extremely frustrating as it makes my gameplay experience feel like I'm tip-toeing between landmines before the game disconnects me for strange reasons, I will make a more detailed bug report later, just wanted to bring it attention here.

    Oh and... I know this probably doesn't help my case, but I really need more wrap slots...
    There's so many more car designs I just want to try and make and I actively

     can't without saying goodbye to some old ones


    All in this thread is not a necessity, but things I would be happy to see addressed

    @TurboZino great post, i especially agree when it comes to the chat wheel, it's INCREDIBLY limited. Going from 16 options in Heat down to just 6 in Unbound is so jarring, I can't fit everything I want to say into a measly 6 slots. Btw I too was a fan of the unlock requirements, it gives you a reason to race. I presume these will be removed or tweaked in the future, if they do so I would also hope we then get a second freeroam option aimed at the racers, so that people who want to race for racings sake (not just because they wanted to unlock cars) can be grouped together for everyone's benefit
