Changing Name plate downgrades car parts

As soon as I add/ change the frame to the Number plate of the car, the specific car gets degraded to lowest parts, i.e. stock, and I am unable to change parts in it. Meanwhile on the parts page all the parts icons get changed to tyres and as soon as I try to activate them for a specific car, the game even crashes sometimes.
