Solved

I can't remove my car wrap. It's displayed as equipped.

Product: Need for Speed: Unbound

Platform: Playstation 5

Summarize your bug:

Two of the wraps on my car cannot be removed.
It is displayed as already equipped.

This is a car that was earned for free in an offline game.
I understand that I share and save car wraps online and offline.

I had an issue where I couldn't remove the wrap on this car, so I sold all of those cars.
Of course I don't use that car wrap on any car.

I have already reinstalled the game and cleared the cache.

These are all car wraps that I designed myself, but in the past there were times when even Community car wraps could not be removed.

Car model:
Nissan Skyline GT-R V-spec '93
Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 '88(ASAP)

Car models resolved in Volume 5 update:
Lotus Exige S '06
Nissan GT-R Premium Edition '17(Community wrap)
There were others, but I forgot them.Did I buy the Exige offline? I forgot.I didn't buy that car online.

How often does the bug occur?:Rarely(0%-9%)

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves?:

...Get GT-R'93 and ASAP car offline for free.
...See what you've earned online.
...Create 20 different "car wraps" with different cars.
...Attach the created wrap to GT-R'93 and ASAPcar.

You will have to do the same task 40 times with two different models.
...After that, all 20 types of car wraps you created will be deleted.

...If all goes well, you'll have a wrap that can't be deleted.

What happens when the bug occurs?: When removing car wrap.

What do you expect to see?:I can remove unnecessary car wrap.
And I can mass-produce new and cool car wraps with confidence.

It was resolved, but I had to decide not to play offline mode completely.

    1. Sell all cars in offline mode! All but one is equipped.
    2. Move to online mode. That "car wrap equipped" display was gone. I was able to delete it!

This is not helpful for those who want to play offline... I feel sorry too.

    Hi @Ron7Roadworrier

Thanks for letting us know what you are seeing in Unbound, when you have a moment can we try the following if you have not?

  • Thank you for your response.

    I'm playing on PS5.
    ...reinstall the game
...Enter PS5 safe mode to clear cache and rebuild database
    I have done the above.

With volume 5, the problem has improved somewhat.

  • It is still occurring 100% of the time after the Volumu5 update.
The two car wraps I created in the past cannot always be deleted.
Other Car wraps can be saved or deleted without any problem.
    That's why I wrote "rare".

    Add to Original Post.
After this incident, I have not received any DLC cars or cars obtained for free from offline events.

The cool green Porsche car wrap I got at an online Porsche event was still broken after volume 5, so I deleted it.
The car kit is gone, but the green normal Porsche is still in the garage.
I can't make a car wrap for this Porsche because it would cause new problems.

So it's possible that this problem is still occurring.

Thank you to all the people involved with this amazing game.

I started playing from volume 4.
The problem has been occurring 100% from the beginning until now.

Since this article seems to have been read by more people than expected, adding some extra information might be helpful. For those who haven't played Lake Shore Online much, there's a risky method worth considering: deleting all cars from your online inventory. However, I haven't tried this myself, so I can't take responsibility for any potential outcomes.

The main issue lies in the fact that even if you haven't removed all car wraps, there's a possibility they could be automatically equipped without your consent. I personally witnessed a strange occurrence only once. Upon entering the editing screen for a car from which I had removed the wrap, I briefly saw the removed wrap re-equipped before reverting to its previously removed state. Superficially, it may seem like the wrap has been removed, but in reality, it might still be equipped.

Sometimes, the synchronization between online and offline save files fails. I don't remember the specific error code, but it displayed something like 6 or 9.Stopping the synchronization immediately resolved the issue.

I might not have needed to sell the car. Now, I meticulously upload the save files manually every day. As a side note, I've also resumed relaxing in the offline mode.

This issue has occurred again. It seems to have been a known problem for quite some time. The solution is to restart the game.

While I could add additional information here, it was impossible to change the title to something more specific. Therefore, I created a new thread. I have provided more detailed information in that post. The new thread is here.
