Need for Speed Unbound - Controls no longer work

What happens when the bug occurs? Controller is not detected, mouse is not detected, and only the right arrow key, enter and escape work on the keyboard.
What do you expect to see? Everything detected and working as intended.

I've been trying to solve this issue for a couple of months now. I've tried all the fixes I could find and nothing worked. All I can do is move the selection on the menu to the right with the right arrow key and exit the game. I'm using the xbox controller for windows via wireless adapter. I have no other controllers. This is the only game I have the issue with, all others work fine.
