Yea so, it would appear you are using an older, non-corrupt save file. I used a backed up save file from 2 weeks ago and that also works. My problem is that I tinker with cars so much that 2 weeks lost is still a lot.
Volume 7 definitely did something to that save file - I only started experiencing problems after it installed, specifically the second patch that was put out soon after first.
There is compelling evidence now that save files have been corrupted by the latest volume. It does not appear to be an EA server side issue as some initially suggested. This would also explain the lack of communication from Criterion - they recognise there is NOTHING that can be done, unless you backed up your save file.
It's really poor. Save file backups should NOT be something the user needs to worry about.
Admins - please get clarification to us asap. If the save files are indeed corrupt and Criterion/EA can't do anything then at least be transparent.
I am a long time supporter of NFS. All of us on these forums are your most loyal customers. Kindly communicate clearly with us and show us the respect we deserve.
Apparently Criterion/EA don't care about the fans, after all they probably care that we buy and they make money. It's easy to give applause when everything is good. it's a pity they just ignore us when it's tough
- 2 years ago@rinat47 One question, when you got that error, all your progress was deleted?
If you are experiencing error, your cars are all there in both SP and MP, but you cannot change their parts nor buy or sell. You get "purchase failed".
The F03 error then stops you from entering free roam and pvp, returning you to the menu.
If you use an older, backed up save file (or if lucky... recycle bin, OneDrive, restore previous version of file etc) or start a new game, now the game works normally BUT...
... all achievements (speed traps, car unlocks etc) are reset.
... you lose all bought cars EXCEPT DLC cars
... your player level and speedpass are NOT reset.
I was lucky... found a save file in recycle bin from 2 weeks ago. So I didn't lose too much of my 800H progress. Others are having to start from 0. PSA - I won't link it here for obvious reasons but there is a NFSU mod that unlocks all achievements. It appears to be MP safe. Some users are now starting game with a new save from 0, but are using mod to make up for all the achievements and car unlocks lost. It seems only fair to me.
Hope this helps.

Nope. just lost the oportunity to play in multiplayer. And VOL6 Rewards was blocked in SP
- 2 years ago@wonderpookie Thank you very much for the help, my problem was that all my progress was deleted overnight, both in online mode and story mode.

Happy to help.
I think the moral of the story is you need to backup that save file. I just make a copy every time I finish playing (not overwriting the previous version!).
Happy racing brother.
- 2 years ago@wonderpookie When I put any different save file correctly it tells me "the file is corrupt" it won't let me put any, I put a friend's file and everything works perfectly and nothing

@RabitShiny Are you on console or PC? I'm on PC.
Your post got me thinking - is it possible to use another user's save file? I had assumed not as the file would somehow be attached to your username.
If possible, that would go a long way to alleviating people's woes over corrupted and lost save files.
It wouldn't be an ideal "fix" but would go a long way to helping people nonetheless.

Yes, I'm on PC too, Steam to be exact, and well I had to start from scratch, fortunately my favorite cars are not difficult to unlock except for the Dodge Viper, and to do the activities and collectibles again 😭

@RabitShiny That sucks - hopefully you weren't too far into game. At lvl250 and 800H, no way I could deal with starting again.
I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to use another user's save file. Some users seem to suggest yes whilst others no. If it were possible, that would go some way to helping "fix" this problem.
In any case, I backup my save file DAILY now. Just copy and paste into another folder (not overwriting previous version).
If NFSU wasn't as fun as it was, I would've moved on by now. Oh the woes!
