NFS Unbound Crashing at launch
Every time I start the game from steam, it first opens up EA, starts loading the EA game launcher, opens the black box that it would normally open before full screening into the game, but it doesnt f...
Still the same issue. It runs, opens nfs black window, then opens EA then crashes both.
I did initially, but it worked fine. It was just a mod that added anime decals for the car. But once the game stopped working I thought my drives had failed and wiped the the PC, bought a new drive and did a clean install of windows. It still wont work.
Hello,
I've had this issue with launching NFS Unbound. It will launch to the starting menu where then you have to hit "enter" to then launch to the next window where you can pick solo, online, etc.; however, mine is currently crashing after the first starting menu. The progress bar will freeze and the game will then crash about 5 sec after hitting "enter". I've tried to uninstall and reinstall the game, checked file integrity, disabled vsync, and I'm still not making any type of progress.
Having the exact same issue with me too. My game was running fine with mods and stuff. But I relaunched the game vanilla to play some online, but the game just refuses to start. I dried deleting the Dx12 files, repaired and reinstalled EA App, reinstalled the game, deleted mod data, re-verified game files via Steam...But nothing seems to work!!
This happened to me after accidentally disabling too much windows services in services.msc
Then i needed to go back to my previous restoring point.
It seems like theres some services that affect NFS UNBOUND. Now it works.
I did a full windows reinstall and still nothing.
what are you guys doing. its been like 6+ months and theres still no solution.
My only solution that's working:
(First, i recommend to have the game installed on your system disc)
Delete everything in shadercache folder in Need for Speed install folder.
Go to your Documents - C:\Users\yourprofile\Documents\Need For Speed(TM) Unbound\cache
and there delete a file, that is file for DX12 (it should be something like "RFH8D3F98J74F_PDX12" or something like that)
Then go to EA client. UNPLUG your internet connection (or disable it if you are running on wi-fi) and start the game right after that. (also i recommend to run EA client as admin).
Game should run. If Not, try it again. If not, Check the Documents again if that DX12 file re-appeared magicaly thanks to EA. If yes: delete it again.
Then again try to run the game by my way. If it's still not working, try to experiment.
(I tried to have installed EA program [It's not app, we are not on mobile, get this into your heads, consolised EA] where i have NFS unbound so, something like this:
"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop\Need for Speed Unbound"
But other than this, i don't know any other solution.
I hope this will help you, and if yes, let me know AND I'M WAITING FOR EXPLANATION FROM EA, HOW IS THIS PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE.
I just bought this game on steam because its on sale, tried the delete cache fix and didnt work, couldnt get it to launch from ea launcher or steam so ima just refund it
Did you ever find a solution to this issue?
Yes. Check my last response in this treat.
