NFS Unbound menu audio constantly playing during game

It sounds like the menu sound for the game is playing constantly for the game even while playing in the game. I hear cops chasing, characters talking, cars racing, music all while I'm playing. It sounds like the audio that plays when your in the menu. I can't hear the actual game audio because the menu audio just keeps playing back to back. I uninstalled the game and re-installed it. Still doing the same thing. Anyone else having this issue? Anyone have a fix or does EA need to update the game? I'm running on steam with the new flagship Alienware x16 laptop, RTX 4080 and all that. The menu audio is annoying. I can't hear anything live in the game. I changed all kinds of volume settings and this audio just keeps going.

  • Well I believe I figured it out. Not 100% why this sound plays in the background still but I figured out how to turn it off or mute it. I held the windows key down and pressed G to bring up the xbox overlay. Then I opened up the audio mixer and lowered the volume for steamwebhelper. I went back to the game and I can still hear the car and in game sounds as you should. I don't know why the steamwebhelper is constantly playing the Unbound game launching audio but that's what was always playing every time I start up the game. I attached a screenshot of what I was talking about.

Hi @xlx_JoeMama_xlx Would it be possible for us to try the following?

  • None of these things fixed my problem at all. I did try doing a capture of me playing the game while the audio was playing. I went to watch the capture and you don't hear any of the menu music audio playing in the background at all. You actually hear how the game is suppose to sound. I don't know what is causing the start-up game audio to keep playing in the background while I'm playing but the game capture only captures what I actually want to hear.

  • Do you have any examples of those? I'm not 100% sure. My audio is RealTek(R). So I'm using the drivers that came with that? The only thing I have running that I know of is the Killer Network manager. And anything alienware related I believe.

HI @xlx_JoeMama_xlx Software similar to something like Equalizer APO or something you would have installed yourself versus coming with the device.

If not, I'm not aware of Alienware having anything like that, that should cause an issue. I can pass this on to the team to be aware of.

We could also try turning off Mic access and check if anything changes.

    Thanks!

Hi @xlx_JoeMama_xlx Thanks for sharing this workaround!

Diffenetly a strange issue, If you clear Steams cache or the cache for the overlay web browser does it continue?

    Cheers!
