Re: NFS Unbound Error Code 6 & Error Code 9: "Unable to save file"

I encountered Error Code 9 this time. The solution was to perform a complete restart of Unbound and proceed to the custom car wrap screen until the error messages stopped appearing. This resolved the issue for me.

I was in the lobby of Lakeshore Online, meaning not participating in the game, and had been customizing my car wrap for over 30 minutes. Fortunately, the car wrap I created was saved.

I repeated the process of returning to the main menu upon game startup, quitting, restarting Unbound, and proceeding to the custom car wrap screen. Each time, some error messages appeared. There was a message saying the save file was discarded but saved. After those error messages stopped appearing, I had to manually reapply the car wrap for all cars in Lakeshore Online as they were all removed.

As a preventive measure, it may be advisable not to stay in the lobby screen of Lakeshore Online for an extended period, as it seems to disconnect from the server after about 30 minutes. However, in reality, this time is necessary when working on creating a car wrap, so there might be no choice but to rely on luck. The downside is having to reapply the car wrap for all cars.

That concludes my report. While this may not solve all issues, I hope it proves helpful to someone.

Here we go again...Error code 6..unable to save wrap.I can't create any wraps at all. This has started back since the new Vol.6 update. The problem has been going on actually since the release of the game.I have tried doing EVERYTHING that can be done on my end. This is clearly an issue on the developers end and not our end.Can this please finally be fixed!!!

Hi friend, yes I completely agree with you. I've also had this error code 6 for 2 days. And this error always remains, regardless of whether you sell the car again and delete the wrap. The only real way to fix this error is to sell all the cars and delete all the wraps. End the game, then load this file into the cloud, then delete the file from the console, restart the PS5, save the file from the cloud back to the console, start the game and unfortunately rebuild the cars again. And I certainly didn't have too many cars, just 80 cars, and 65 wraps, and normally you can store up to 100 wraps. Ok, all in all, 6 - 7 hours of work. Great job EA.

Ok dear people, I have fixed this error code 6 on my PS5. It's a long and hard step. Take screenshots of your cars and write down the engine tuning. Turns off automatic synchronization. Then you sell all the cars, and delete all the wraps, and then you quit Unbound. Attention, when you exit you will receive a message on the PS5 saying "due to an error your data is corrupted and will not be saved." Do not open this message. Then you start Unbound again and find that the 1 car and the money are still there. Ok then you exit Unbound again and find that this time it exits without an error message, and that's the good thing. Then you delete Unbound's cloud storage and restart the console, and before you start the game, load the data from the console back into the cloud and activate automatic synchronization again. Then you start the game and there are no more errors. Now comes the thing that takes the longest, rebuilding your cars. With me it took 3.45 hours, but my game is running perfectly again and without errors. So it worked 100% for me. good luck

I actually appear to have fixed this error.  I don't know which of the below steps fixed the problem but listing all of them just in case:

    1. Turned off auto sync

    2. Cleared PS5 cache

    3. Downloaded NFS Unbound cloud data file to overwrite console storage data file

    4. Opened game and deleted most recently-created wrap (Error 9 and Error 6 showed up after trying to save this wrap)

    5. Sold last purchased car which was associated with deleted wrap

    6. Had to select each of my cars and open up the Style option which reloaded its wrap

    7. Deleted all unused and unshared wraps from Library

    Please note:

    1. The game kept erroring out when closing until I completed #4 above

    2. The wrap I deleted, which seems to have triggered the problem, was a complex wrap with 100+ components (may have been too large and created memory issues)

    3. All my shared wraps became unshared at some time during the above troubleshooting steps

    4. I have not reshared any wraps yet

    5. I still have auto-sync off

    6. The game is now running smoothly again and I only lost one wrap and car

Dunno if this will help anyone else but good luck!

First of, thank you for responding to me. I’ve read it all. But how do I keep all my self made livery’s is there no way?

The error is probably in the wraps, so take screenshots of all the vehicles and rebuild them the same way, or hope that EA fixes the error. And now the question is, what is quicker, 3.45 hours of work like I did, or wait forever until EA fixes the error? I would wait for now and live with the error.
