@ChrisBapalot  This was exactly what was happening to me, I managed to solve it by following the steps I put a little above, but it only works with the PS5 controller

Hi, i have a ps5 controller connected but steam says its a Dualshock 4, any solutions maybe? Thank you in advance

I am able to use it. if youre using DS4 windows just update to the latest version of it. ALSO make sure you do not have steam running in the background as it does not work if it is.
