I Unplugged my foot pedal and holy * that fixed it. This has to be the strangest bug I have ever experienced THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE SUGGESTION 

So unplugging my foot pedals sort of fixed it. Before, I could not accelerate, menus only showed keyboard inputs, left stick moved camera around car. Rest of buttons did nothing except boost on one of them.   
Unplugging the foot pedal allowed full function of the car MINUS the left stick skill controlled the camera around the car AND steered at the same time.  

i only have one xbox one wireless controller connectet. even if i disconnect keyboard, mouse and headset the controlls are switshed.

updating controller firmware doesnt help either.

every other game works fine with th xbox controller.

Why can i only select keys and actions for keyboard. in NFS most wanted from 2005! you could selekt your own Button layout for your controller!!!

I had this problem for months and tried unplugging my HOTAS stick and throttle and now everything works again. Thank you so much!

I have an XBOX ONE controller and since the game came out in November I was always able to play normally, it was until 3 weeks ago that the game started to crash and there is no way that I can use my controller, I already tried almost all the solutions that there is on the internet and nothing works... in other games my control works normally, it only happens with NFS, it is annoying, I thought that VOL 3 would somehow fix the bug, I even repaired and reinstalled the game but the problem persists, at times it works and then it does nothing else. ☹️

I know this is an old thread. I have a 3 piece foot switch. Thanks for your information, i unplugged mine and my controller now works for NFS Hot Pursuit
