(repost) Unbound refuses to use dedicated graphics card

Update: Since the last post I've wiped and reinstalled my graphics drivers several more times in varying capacities, checked the BIOS for a useful graphics switch (there wasn't one) and connected to an external display via video out. Nothing has worked.

Title says it all. I have a laptop with an Nvidia GTX 1650ti and Radeon integrated graphics and while playing the game I run a steady 95-100% usage on the Radeon and never more than 1% on the 1650. I have tried forcing the executable to use the 1650 in both Nvidia Control Panel and Windows settings, I've updated, deleted, and clean reinstalled my drivers, I've forced both Steam and the EA app to run on the 1650, I've completely disabled my integrated graphics via Device Manager, and while Control Panel and Windows both *say* its using the 1650, it doesn't show up on the GPU info and usage stays at 0%. Even with the Radeon "disabled" it still ran off it, albeit a lot slower. On the integrated graphics I can run a semi-consistent 20-30 FPS so its not at all unplayable, but its really damn annoying.

Specs:

Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3
Windows 11 Home, version 21H2

AMD Ryzen 5 5600H with Radeon Graphics

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650ti Dedicated Graphics

24GB of RAM, 20GB usable

  • @nessfoxx Could try disabling the integrated card in BIOS, if you can. That way it definitely can't be used anymore.
  • @NLxAROSA There isn't an option to do so, you can only select "Switchable" or "UMA graphics" which the friend i was troubleshooting with said is integrated only
  • Another update on this: Yesterday in the middle of a race my graphics decided to have a moment and make my Radeon iGPU "GPU 2" instead of "GPU 1" in task manager temporarily. (Note: the 1650 is and remained in this situation "GPU 0") As soon as this happened, my game crashed with a DirectX error and the usage on my 1650 spiked. I didn't see the error as my window was all * up but I saw the header "DirectX Error" by hovering over the game icon in my taskbar. As soon as I refreshed Task Manager, the Radeon iGPU reset to "GPU 1" and on next launch the game ran solely on the Radeon as it's been in the past. This leads me to believe this issue is somehow connected to the GPU order/numbering. Maybe the game defaults to using a "GPU 1" if one is present? I don't * know at this point
