January is like the last you would ever see a possible gameplay update and it's ALWAYS been this way. But it was explained why actual gameplay updates haven't happened and that is from people who complained EA ruined the game. The game isn't in some terrible state either. It runs just fine for me on all the modes. Gameplay is always gonna be subjective to people.
Just when you look thru the forums you see people say goalies are trash and then you got people who say goalies are too good.
You got people who hate the state of LT-ing in the game but if they make changes it could result in more of a sluggish game that people whined and cried about in NHL 17 or 18 I believe.
Then we got hitting. It's an off and on again thing for years. Some years it's trash and people bounce off left and right from players who should be able to check then it's extremely powerful destroying everyone no matter the size/attributes.
Pokecheck is the same as hitting to a degree but overall they have found a sweet spot for it.
One thing that doesn't change is the best players stay the best because they play the game given to them instead of wanting to live some real life fantasy of how it should be played. The game is forever gonna be like 80% realism with 20% arcade sprinkled in.
@KIJHLPhenom14Dunno who Avaholic is. I honestly don't care if they fix things people have been asking for year to fix. I've wanted them to fix/tone down LT-ing for the longest time. I mean if they fix the short side goal you all complain about it just means the far side is back open. I play within what the game allows minus ragging the puck because that is just playing scared like you don't belong.
I don't consider myself defending the game. I want lots of changes but I'm gonna say if you aren't using what t he game is offering regardless of what you think is real or not then it's on you not the game. I also play majority of my games as a defenseman or goalie. Two of the most painful things to play and I deal with things just fine.
- rsandersr473 years agoSeasoned Ace@KlariskraysNHL you specifically said it runs fine on all game modes, and now you only play 6's? I also highly doubt you're finding games all night but I guess I'll just take your word for it.
First you say it's 80% real 20% arcade then openly admit you use any exploit the game gives you.. so you likely know every exploit. Which in turn should allow you too see how unrealistic 80% is 🤣 🤡
It's not "on" people for trying to play a hockey game like a hockey game. This is the only game attempting to produce a hockey simulation and it's not 80% hockey if they're forced to use video game tactics to win.. use your head dude.. I mean if the only thing you wanna do is win then you're probably right but those people are the cancer of this community. Also where does it stop? One player may thing glitch goals or using every LT mechanic is okay because it's in the game.. another may think ragging is okay because it's in the game.. another may think desync's are fine and keeping people from getting a win. It's all in the game so if you're not ragging the puck it's on you right? Just trying to find consistency!- TTZ_Dipsy3 years agoHero+
I find you get a great balance between real/arcade hockey when playing 6's since everyone has dedicated builds and, in theory, sticks to their allocated "zones".
A buddy and I just started playing 3's after 5 or so months and we've been able to match up almost inatantly (of course the mode and it being added to EA Play probably had something to to with it - miles will obviously vary depending on the mode).
You can either take the L with pride or play long enough to use all the tricks at your disposal, haha.
Listen, I enjoy hockey and try my darndest to adhere to the "guidelines", but while some others only love winning, I also HATE to lose.
Something tells me they got the message loud and clear about how to manage their updates - feedback has always been strong, but this year seemed extra spicy
- KlariskraysNHL3 years agoHero@rsandersr47 Considering organized leagues have rules against ragging the puck it speaks for itself how it's an unwritten rule. Don't see leagues banning LTing in the slightest. Don't see the NHL HUT Tournaments banning LTing. Not hard to see what they deem acceptable. So we still calling goals that can be repeated over and over glitches? Because it's just programming. Now if the puck is going thru the back of the net into the goal then I'd say that is a glitch. A puck going thru a body part clearly from all angles I'd say is a glitch too. But a forehand backhand short side shot is just normal programming.
Human 6's is the standard for what balance is built around. HUT is balanced til cards reach the 90s then it is out the window chaos.- rsandersr473 years agoSeasoned Ace@KlariskraysNHL So first your argument was realism. Then it became what is able to be done in the game, and now it's what leagues allow? So I gotta read what leagues allow to know what I can and can't do? Then I need to exploit the game in all the ways leagues allow to be competitive? Man, call me crazy but I just want to play a hockey game that plays like hockey. Have fun playing a game that is sorta like hockey but exploiting it in any way that's deemed okay by your community 👍
