Bad AI defense/Goaltending with video

@Nasher355 I agree with all of these with the only exception is the goalie in clip 3. Unlike clip 1, the skater gets into a central position in the front of the net and could have easily gone to the forehand which drastically changes the angle they can attack from

The rest is absolutely brutal AI, especially the AI poking thin air. Did they think they were using Chara’s stick? 😆 I’m sure there’s rules against sticks over a certain length if you’re under 6ft 6

@TheUnusedCrayon I looked at that hit bubble and it’s brutal 😆. The player getting hit should’ve been turned by the hit clockwise, lost possession and most likely put on his behind

The AI poking is a symptom of a common problem with the EA NHL games in recent years.  They'll make a gameplay change but neglect to adjust the AI to account for it.  This year the AI plays as if poking or using DSS will have no impact on their skating which causes them to get burnt constantly in one-on-one situations.

Clip 1: extremely easy Save on the short side that the goalie should of had. 

Clip 2: Best example of a hitting bubble I've seen. Guy loses the puck for a sec so I go to pinch but he pulls it to the backhand with almost no momentum which causes my guy to just miss for no reason on a perfectly lined up hit. I was a big body enforcer to with good body checking stats. 

Clip 3:  AI pokes the air? It causes him to lose speed and get burned. We set the AI to defend lead and passive but he still tried to poke check. It wasn't even a good attempt. The goalie also should of 100% made that save all it was was a backhand goal.

Clip 4: AI pokes the air AGAIN and gets burned. Also on defend lead and passive. We need a option to set the AI to play the pass and not go for a poke check since it slows you down now.

Clip 1 - Goalie should have played that better. Possibly, the puck being knocked loose interrupted that.

Clip 2 - This hit doesn't make good contact. It went more behind the carrier. There is no hitting bubble. This is just a partial hit so there isn't enough impact.

Clip 3 - It's a 3 on 1 so the AI is taking all 3 opposing players into consideration and trying to make a play. While it looks like they are poking the air, they're actually going in to DSS and trying to cut passing options. Personally, I set my D as aggressive as possible so the chances of stepping up on these plays are a lot better than being passive and giving the opposing players more time to set up for a play.

Clip 4 - The AI initially tries to cover the lead player on the right. The carrier keeps the puck and skates through the open hole left by the AI for trying to cover the other player. They get burned, but it's also a 2 on 1 and there's only so much they can do.

Partial hits should still do something though. In their current state, only the defender is penalized; sure, you can argue skill-gap and it forces better plays, but the puck carrier shouldn't be getting out of them completely unscathed either.
