I’m having browser issues, so I’m replying directly to a comment so it gets here
Just Uninstalling/reinstalling won’t fix the issue, nor will a regular restart.
Need to
1. Uninstall
2. Remove any profile from account (other than main, includes guests)
3. Go to settings->general->sleepmode and startup->full shut-down
4. Unplug xbox completely for 5-10 minutes
5. Restart console and reconnect controller manually as if it was a brand new controller.
6. Reinstall Game
Any of the other methods/half methods seem to work temporarily and then revert back
last year they said they were looking into it and never answered after that.
a week ago they said they were able to replicate it and they were looking into it --- now crickets.

This is going to take time. It's also a lower priority when compared to bigger issues so I can't guarantee this is going to be addressed in 23.
- Dangler61963 years agoNew Traveler
What takes time is loading up the game, quitting the game, restarting my console, loading into free skate, and finally plugging in and unplugging my controller before vibration works.
I dealt with this for the entirety of NHL 22.
As much as I love the series, I can't spend any more money on it until a basic function like controller vibration is addressed.
I get that the devs have other priorities, but that's not an acceptable excuse anymore considering all the other issues that have carried over year over year.
See you on Game Pass.

@EA_AljoThis is a horrendous response to an issue thats over a year old. This game should have something as simple as controller vibration, any random indie $10 dollar game in the shop has working vibration.
And this seems to be one of the most constantly talked about issues, there are 4 topics on this forum alone filled with people asking for this to be addressed. Its also worth noting, the glitch itself isn’t just a vibration issue, its directly related to the phantom controller issue which is causing many other in-game problems. They need to fix the phantom controller issue asap.

The phantom controller issue is also being investigated.

good lord, we are almost in 2023 and we are hoping that a multimillion dollar franchise is able (or willing) to fix a bug like this... :D crazy
- 3 years ago
That is pathetic.
- 3 years ago@Dangler6196 I already received a refund on the game, for many reason that should be corrected. Game pass it is as well.

What fixes it for me is plugging the controller into the xbox while I'm playing (sometimes have to do it twice). The controller vibrations will be back and then you can even disconnect and they'll stay fixed for a while. Eventually they glitch out again. I find it's also accompanied with button lag (when the vibration isn't there)

Are you saying there is no lag when the controller is plugged in and vibration is working?
- Lemanski833 years agoNew Traveler@EA_Aljo What I've noticed is that the controller (wireless) will suddenly lose vibration and "feel" like the button delay is greater. When this happens, I'll plug it into the Xbox, the vibration returns, and the delay seems better. I can then unplug it and go wireless again and the vibration/delay will stay fixed for a while (sometimes days).
There's definitely some issue with button delay. The game ran the smoothest on the first 2 days (pre-release) then something happened and it just feels sluggish.
Would be happy to help test. - 3 years ago
can anyone confirm if this is just an issue with the elite 2 controller or is there no vibration in regular controllers also ?
would like to know before i go buy a regular controller
- Dangler61963 years agoNew Traveler
@legionfullerVibration works on my older controllers with no issue
Series Elite 2 is my problem as well
- bobemil_sw133 years agoRising Hotshot@Dangler6196 It doesn't work with any wireless controller for me. Elite and regular controller.
- Dangler61963 years agoNew Traveler@bobemil_sw13 I'll test it again later. I had to charge my older controller, so plugging it in may have enabled vibration

Thanks for the update. Appreciate it 👍
- 3 years ago@legionfuller It’s any wireless controller, if you are having the issue with the game itself

@EA_Aljo To add to this; when this happens (lose vibrations + button delay), I would go into something like ProAM, plug the controller in and it usually comes back. SOMETIMES it doesn't and I notice that in those cases the controller selection shows me as the blue controller (with a red one there as well). I only have 1 controller on. When it does work, it'll just show me the red controller.

Thanks for the additional details.

The only work around for now to get vibration for me to work was,
I go into Play now, right when you select your teams i hold the xbox button to disconnect the controller,
then turn on controller it and now the red controller becomes the 1st one and vibration works.

Would be happy to help test.A second blue controller will randomly appear while I am playing, usually 1-2 times a night. It’s only visible if you go to the Play Now screen but I am pretty sure it is related to the vibration. The extra controller also causes considerable input delay that only goes away if you hard reset the Xbox. That being said, I also experience input lag without the blue controller and the amount of lag varies game to game. It generally feels like it increases with each game I play until I hard reset, but it always comes back. I have heard people who play NHL and FIFA talking about cache issues or cloud storage issues from EA’s side.
I have had the extra controller issue with both the Elite series 1, 2, and regular Xbox controller. EASHL, HUT, Versus, all basically unplayable at a remotely competitive level because of this. The game is extremely unresponsive and it’s not consistent game to game

Thanks for those details. That's interesting about the input lag. I have the extra controllers myself. This happens every day as I leave the game paused for extended times, but I haven't experienced any input delay from it. I also have vibration turned off though so if that's what is causing this, it makes sense I wouldn't experience it. I know both the issue with vibration as well as the extra controllers are known issues, but I don't have any updates on them.
Also, are you seeing 2 blue controllers or are you saying the it's just the second controller that shows up is blue?

two months and still no answer on this ?
it didnt work at all last year. they had to have been able to duplicate it by now
- 3 years ago
This is just insane…
had the exact same issue with NHL 22
I’m playing on a Xbox series Xtested it with following controllers
elite 1
elite 2
original Xbox one controller
original Xbox S controller
original Xbox series X controller
with all of them there is no vibration and ghost controllers appearing.
I’m just glad that I could download the test version of 23 and not waste my money on another EA product. This problem exists since the pre release of NHL22 and nothing happend.
i’m 100% not wasting my time reconnecting/closing/restarting my game every time I want to play some hockey. - 3 years ago
In FIFA 23 there is the issue that controller settings are not saving (also camera settings/game settings in general).
I play on PS5 and the LED around the touchpad of the controller doesnt light, only a small white one does.
If I turn that controller off and back on, the LED lights red until I end the game. The interesting thing is ive got different game/controller settings with the red light on.
I don't know if that helps but maybe it can help to track it down.
I want EA to their job finally and provide a casual service to their customers. I am not asking for a excellent service - just a casual one, thats enough.
Bugs that exist for months now in a game that was made by a company of that size - sad.
