New game, same issue. Since last January. Not my first rodeo posting here!To get the jump on the response: Xbox Series X, 1ms monitor, all hardware has been swapped multiple times (including my system three times). *****This is in Offline Free Skate. Nothing to do with connection, router, anything. In the first GIF, you can see what is normal responsiveness. I'm simply doing lateral cuts, it feels and looks snappy. Same mode, not 5 minutes later, it reverts to the normal. I'm doing the same lateral cuts, but the game feels unmistakably heavier. Now, that's feel based -- and it feels like 150 ping, if it were online (and you can imagine the worse sluggishness online, with my guy refusing to sprint, etc.). But my skater just stopping each time I do a cut is painfully detectable by all with eyeballs. It looks wrong. In each clip, I swapped controllers multiple times before/after. Multiple controllers replicated the first GIF; multiple replicated the second, although the latter is the commonplace experience. This is what tends to happen. If I hard reset, I might get a few minutes clean before it hits the fan......but not usually. On a new system I bought in July, for one night it worked well before playing like this too. I know I'll get a canned response that is not helpful at all (this only the trial; thankfully, I didn't buy it again), but I want this out in the ether.

@EA_Aljo I'm writing this politely and I expect it to remain here.EA (nothing personal with you) might take it with a group of customers, where majority know little of network, and their first statement is "my ping is ok to another game", but many of us, let me be extreme here, do not even do such checks. We don't even check connections in Sweden, network rookie or not. We do not ping or trace. We know it's the other party's issue. That's how confident connections have become here in Sweden. To be more specific here, my every day job is dealing with networks too.It's the same in many other regions. It's not 20 years ago, where many facing connection issues are having route problems through their ISPs, or capping their bandwidth.I launch the game - one game shows latency of 16 ms and it's smooth. It nears peak hours, next game, same latency, but gameplay slower and then slower the game that follows. What does it tell you? Because you are not facing it, it means necessarily client's error? "Maybe" you route through a chill network and that's why, and many don't.Reasonings on why many do not report this kind of issue are many. Not everyone checks EA forums. it's the last place people would want to visit on net. We have to play this game. Let me reiterate on it here that we have to because there is no proper competitor/competition.Many on the other hands would think it is their connection, not EA's. Lack of knowledge here is another reasoning. As long as the game plays, and as there is no alternative, people just press button and shut it down at the end.It's your servers, whatever way you have designed it.You are an employee there - kindly play it fair for people who lack network knowledge and might come to doubt that it really could be their connection necessarily. Not that it can never be, but just Google. You will find similar symptoms reported on Reddit too, and again when it comes to frequency of such reports, I already explained it.Those managers, they need to be reminded that some of the resources may be able to dedicate more hours to this issue and similar, than designing solely new pack promotions and getting them in place as soon as possible. Customer satisfaction can also lead to better financials.

i think we found the mystery, talked to my provider, didn't find any errors on sunday and before since my players were acting weird.Today I was at gamestop, spoke to a salesman who knows the gaming industry well. I explained to him that my game has been totally different since Sunday,my players are making strange movements and I suspect that my series s is overheating and that's why a hardware error has occurred and that I want to buy a new console.The first thing he said was the series s and xbox in general does not overheat or very very rarely. Believe me or not he said the same thing as the thread creator wrote here. 99% a cloud/sync error..he saw the 2 gifs that are here, then he said 1000% cloud/sync error..EA will never admit that and never fix it, he said..he as a seller doesn't play EA been playing more for 3 years since EA has these problems.. well guys, not your connection, not your console, not the tv is to blame, it's an error in the cloud storage.. and sorry for my english

I've been pretty detailed and polite about this, but I started this thread and added a METRIC TON of information, including clips and ideas and inconsistencies, and I haven't even gotten one direct reply. I have to watch the conversation get steered away from what I said and to QoS nonsense to totally bury what I said. C'mon. There's no way actually engage with someone knowledgable and helpful on this. It's this (getting the runaround) or an email into the void without reply. The customer service is putrid.

@EA_Aljo Is there going to be official word from the dev team on this because it has been happening for years? Why doesn't other games get weird input lag unresponsiveness like this does? It's shouldn't be a problem. Also if you press home button on series X the game gets input lag too like it feels its out of sync the rest of the match.

When we have some news, an update will be provided. If you'd like to go through some troubleshooting, let me know. It would be good to do that as we're not seeing a high amount of reports on this.

Are you playing on a wired or wireless connection? Also, can you list the steps you've tried so far?

Okay, so there is actually a way to totally reset the game. Even a full factory reset and game deletion won't take you back to the original menus. Something remains on short term memory or the cloud that prevents it. It will still show "Last Played." This isn't an issue on other games, so it's something endemic to the programming of this game.
If you load up the game, THEN go offline, THEN delete all game data while in the game, it will close the app. Upon starting it back up offline, it takes you to the first load-up screens. This was never a thing on last gen NHL (when I had zero issues) because it would always do a full reboot startup of the game. Again, I'm quite certain I'm narrowing this down to a Quick Resume/Cloud bug. From there, I don't know why it causes the delay/input unresponsiveness online and offline (something affecting the performance of the Xbox?). But I had my normal sluggish feel offline last night. Then I did this full startup reset, and it instantly felt snappier in the same offline mode. Noticeably so. I'm not sure if the game re-syncing the Cloud data to play online would just revert it back.

tried 2 different latest hdmi cables
using MSI Optix G273QF esports monitor
tried brand new controller (updated)
power cycled console
router is updated to latest firmware
tried different DNS hosts

Might forgot something but nothing has helped.

Does your router support QoS (Quality of Service)? Also, what mode(s) are you experiencing the delay in?

I have only my xbox and PC connected to the router and im never downloading anything when im gaming. Didn't find QoS setting but it wouldn't do much in this case as there is no other traffic. The delay is in HUT and WOC.
