NHL 24 Franchise Wishlist

So here’s another novel idea, since we have ALL these players from around the world, in different leagues on the rosters in game. How about letting us have them in franchise mode. This is all leagues, including the ECHL. “If it’s in the game” let them be in the complete freakin game.

Allow us not to have waste time in shifting around rosters before starting a dam franchise mode. Apparently the only league’s rosters that carry over into franchise mode is, NHL, AHL, SHL and HockeyAllsvenskan.

Give us ALL players in franchise mode!

From what I’ve heard about EA SPORTS, they were told by the NFL and NHL that if they don’t create the best video game on the market they would lose the licensing rights and those leagues would explore other options for video game developers. I can’t confirm this as truth, but deep down I hope they fail and we finally get a hockey game that we fans deserve. 

Some other suggestions

1. ECHL, NLA, Czech League etc etc. All players in these leagues should carry into/be in Franchise Mode and not disappear. You should NOT have to waste time editing rosters moving this player here and that player there to use them in Franchise Mode.

2. Winter Classic and All-Star festivities should definitely be in Franchise mode.

3. A new X-Factor. In the idea of Matthew Tkachuk or Carter Verhaeghe, “Playoff Hero.” It gives players an exceptional or advanced boost to poise. Maybe some other abilities. You could assign it to goalies and skaters.

4. We need true to life AHL rules with underage players.

5. We need true to life waiver rules.

My NHL 24 Franchise mode wishlist:  

1) Option to save line combinations.

- Its so frustrating to modify lines every time when injured players get healty and come back to your lineup. Another option would be to give your head coach an order to put a specific player to play a position you want in your team. For example if you have too many centers in your team, you could give your head coach an order to put one of your centers to play always as a left wing. Otherwise your head coach might put a top 6 forward to the 4th line or even bench a player who normally belongs to 2nd or 3rd line.

2) Free agent signing

- Give players a motivation for signing. Each free agent could have a goal or a coulple of goals what they are looking for their next contract. Possible motivations could be: money, stanley cup contender, team with friendly faces, near hometown, big market, small market, more playing time, leader for younger players. etc. Those motivations should affect players decisions to sign. So for example some players could choose to play in a winning team with less money and shorter term. On the other hand someone could choose to play in a rebuilding team and show example for young rookies in that team. Great example of that is Ryan O'reilly who chose to sign in Nashville. Or a skilled player who has had a tough last year could want one year kind of show me deal to prove his real potential in a team that also could promise him more playing time and bigger role.

3) More strategies and playing styles for coaches.

- Possibility to hire one special coach who gives the team an advantage in a specific area of the game. These type of specialists could be for example:

powerplay, penaltykill, skating, physics, mental. For example mental coach could give players some mental toughness which help players to prevent to take penalties.  

List goes on but I don't want to continue because most of the ideas have already mentioned and there are a lot of great ones in here. I just wanted to make a list of  my top 3 ideas at the moment.

Player SEARCH by keyboard! seriously how annoying is it scrolling through pages and pages of players.

This also applies to the Draft and marking players to watch.

Like they even have an option called Player Search engine, that thing is no search. it's just a list...

It would also be nice to be able to be a gm online with your friends like in madden.

1. SCOUTING

A) Post-Season Scouting

After the regular season I spend the 2 1/2 months scouting every 1-3 bar Elite LOW and MED to full info.  I am bouncing from Assign Scout to View Draft Class and back.  It is very inefficient.

Add to Assign Scout screen:

1 Name of Scout being edited on the top of the screen.

2 Column for Potential that can be sorted.

3 Column for last Scout that scouted Player

This will make it easy to match the scout to the player.  This would be a huge time saver.

B) Scout Plan

Formulate this before season or edit during season.

a) Player Type

b) Strengths / Weaknesses

c) Skills

d) Character

e) Potential

A checklist for types of scouting and a checklist of players to scout.

If i go a, c, e I can scout 20 players (10 at a time) per scout. And after I can do clean-up assignments til the draft.  Would also allow to assign specific players to specific scouts.  This will prevent cross-scouting.  CSR rankings jumble the players' list and the top 10 is different than the next 10.

C) Scout Personalities

Affecting Scout ratings, Scout to Team Morale, Team to Scout Morale

a) Number of players scouted that are drafted

b) Development and Performance of those players.  Scout could think the Organization is terrible at handling the player, etc.

2. DRAFT

A) Watchlist Alert.  When a player on your watchlist is drafted there should be an alert and you should be able to see the draft scroll and click on it to see the player's info.

B) Drafted Threshold.  Select any Potential from LOW Bottom 6 to HIGH Franchise and get an alert list when those players get drafted.

C) Post Draft Summary

There is a list of Potentials and the number of players drafted at that potential league-wide and by our team.

Elite MED   5 (0)

Elite LOW 8 (0)

Top 6 F HIGH 0 (0)

Top 6 F MED 13 (0)

etc.

That list should be interactive and be able to see every player and click on each player's info

3.BETTER COACH RETIREMENTS SCREEN

Be able to click on the Coach's card when he retires.  Right now when my coach gets old I screen shot his Bio and Regular Season and Playoffs.

4. CONTRACT EXTENSIONS

Manually input Contract Extensions that are 2 years out should be recognized.  Tom Wilson, Sorokin, Aho afaik those contracts can'be edited but won't be recognized when starting a new franchise.

5 AHL Contracts

If you add AHL teams to Pro Team, you can put those players in the ECHL.

a Season ECHL)  Game loads up full ECHL rosters

b Season AHL) Game promotes all AHL and NHL rights players for full AHL rosters

c Franchise) Game promotes all AHL and NHL rights players

d Custom League might be a problem if both Wilkes-Barre and Wheeling are in it.  The promotions should then be based on roster requirements.

6 AHL Captains and Assistant Captains on AHL contracts should be given a spot in the lineup when using Preferred Lineups

7 Face-Off Formations

Please add for 5v5 and 4v4.  Would be great to also expand to include Offensive Zone and Defensive Zone

Once the glitches about the Face-Off guy on PP and PK in the Sim and Gameplay are fixed this is a great addition.

8. CUSTOM LEAGUE

In Franchise Hub it says METROPOLITAN for division standings and then METROPOLITAN DIVISION for the Scrolls.

This can't be duplicated in Custom League.  Let the name be the name and then you can add 'Conference' or 'Division' where you want.
