Frustrated?!?!
Most of us are this close to leaving and never coming back to be honest
- 3 years ago
It's gotten to the point even the Gamechangers/Content Creators and EA NHL dev team are frustrated. People are putting blame on the content creators but many of them have been on board with the same requests I have suggested over the years. I know quite a few of them from when I streamed on Twitch often. One of the main Franchise Mode creators has barely done any series in 23 because the modes so broken. One of our friends went back to BAP in NHL20 and is having more fun, despite it being an older game because the content was better than what we had had for 3 seasons now. Why that mode hasn't been touched within 2 years is questionable. This is making even myself hardly play the game I paid for. The well-known content creators barely play to because of this. The viewership for NHL23 is lower than the past 2 years. I'm part of that community! E-sports/LGHL is the only reason the increase in viewership goes up. Even the newer streamers only average 1-3 viewers when it used to be like 7-12. I used to have 8-40 some nights back in 21. Even 22 was better than what 23 is at.
Something needs to change! People need to stop blaming the content creators for the direction because they want what we want too. Reddit is where most the feedback comes from but 99% are just trolls on that thread. Why not pop into the streams, and do like a weekly Tweet on what the community would like to see? This isn't just on EA NHL, but EA Sports need to help better financially so they have the finances to add more to their Dev team. The bugs are unbearable at this point and the game is unplayable!
Way to many longtime consumers are directing themselves away from the franchise and going back to older games. QOL content needs to be better! The custom leagues, last chance puck movement, Zegras ( Was in an older version of EA NHL ), Last chance puck movement, custom league in Franchise, all could have waited until BAP has; Prospects game, Full seasons in Junior, AHL, Injury Tracker, Option to skip cutscenes are added! Drop-in could have at the very least had the options to choose and different sweater and team, instead of use the same generic one every time...
The direction is going more backwards than forwards and 99% of the community is seeing it. NHL 24 won't have interest unless something changes in 23 asap. Sorry but it's the most honest constructive feedback that needs to be said. We pay good money for these games, and for it to be a copy&paste of 22 in the sense of content in inexcusable... It's lowering the population and games only are becoming more difficult to find. Even in 21 the population has been low so cross-console is out of the question when it's something we have been dealing with before 5 gen came about...

- T2HD3 years agoRising Veteran@Caliboy6262_714 I’m in that boat. The ship has sailed for me never to return. Too many years of disappointment and the same Forum comments and suggestions that seem to fall on deaf ears (my biggest criticism). I’m playing 2K Sports’ NHL2K8 with my updated roster and enjoying that much more. Pretty sad that a 15 year old game on a two generations ago console does that for me. We’re not alone. Just look at the forum comments. I wish the developers would listen to the customers. I thought we were always right in the world of retail sales?
- Kmahrle833 years agoRising Veteran@T2HD Unfortunately it's not on the devs. It's the shot callers and producers. Management has allowed this series to decline in quality year over since littman left. Is it any coincidence that many of our exact issues have been left ignored since this new guy came and all focus is on monetization?
He still has a job not because he makes a good game. Nope, it's because he is business savvy and makes them money. These people don't care if we enjoy the game or if it's even a good game. All they care about is increasing profits. The sooner we all stop pre ordering, buying special editions, and buying packs, the sooner change will be made. Once this producer stops making them money, they will turn on him too and bring in someone fresh.
I don't normally advocate for people to lose jobs but it's embarrassing at this point. The very year he took over the game went straight downhill quality wise and HUT became the focus.- T2HD3 years agoRising Veteran@Kmahrle83 Amen! They're all part of the problem though IMHO. They are helping drill the holes in the sinking ship. Either our Forum comments are ignored or they're never given to the devs. If the comments are received and they're ignored by the producers etc. then I hope they reap what they sow soon. Maybe they can go work at Twitter. I hear they have a few openings. I'm beyond tired with the Forum moderator's comments that "the devs don't tell us why etc." year after year too. As soon as they feel the pain inflicted by FORMER customers like myself the sooner their profits dwindle and they're forced to change (or abandon it altogether). Me? I couldn't care less what they do as I'm done being ripped off. All I want for Christmas is another company to release a NHL game.
