Hi PK,
I want to give you some feedback on your sliders and roster setup. It's just my little opinion :-)
I started a new season with the Sharks (a few better teams might be out there but I like their jerseys :-).
In the meanwhile I played 10 games. I know you do not like to hear that...but I do not play "position locked"....maybe one day I will ;-).
Just 2 minor tweaks (period length down to 10 minutes, pass assistance from 0 to 15) and I was good with the control of the entire team. So, let's roll out the feedback:
what I like:
- first to mention is your power and effort in order to adapt the entire NHL roster...what a bunch of work
- appreciate also that the important trades are considered
- the flow and pace of the gameplay feel realistic (as much as it can be in a video game)
- loosing pucks and boardplay battles are really good
- the game statistics are well balanced (SOG 25-45...once also up to 50, but this was due to unusual high amount penalties and very aggressive CPU)
- the time on attack is fairly equal
- also the team statistics are quite realistic (average goals for and against stats seem to be like in real life)
- each game plays a bit different...low, middle and high scores...(but not unrealistic, my highest score was 7 and CPU's highest 8)...usually goal scores are around 3-6
- good goal variations, also from the CPU....I have seen slapshots, snapshots, one timers, rebounds, deflections, screens, breakaways, 2 on 1, powerplay pressure....and also cheesy goals. They do exist in Hockey...if you like them or not :-)
- hitting feels good and challenging on hitting assistance 0....usually I never took care about the hits but now I have to try my best in order to make a hit and keep up with the AI :-)
- all in all the game is challenging, after 10 games my score is 6-4-0.....(some Sharks manager might be proud ;-)
- no easy wins and no unfair losses...as you also described, normally it does not feel bad after a loss because the gameplay and the stats were balanced...no overpowered CPU
- passing...sometimes I have seen super cool CPU passes, realistic passing, not the "AI God mode" anymore
- ...and probably more I forget to mention right now :-)
what I don't like:
- maybe sometimes penalties are too less....but sometimes they are good and realistic. But I think these are game mechanics which can not be changed easily.
- what else....nothing :-)
Thanks again PK for your hard work and the sharing of its result... and not to forget also much appreciation for the great NHL 24 pre-trailers :-).
All the best and I am sure you enjoy your own setup too :-)
