- kezz1233 years agoNew Veteran@EA_Aljo What you need is not me providing a video thats going to be disputable (oh your speed was probably too low, he was probably just hustling and caught you or oh, it doesnt seem faster than hustling (it is)), its someone volunteering to demonstrate it and explain how to do it. It would be mind boggling to me if nobody in your team was aware of this unless nobody at EA plays the game at any form of competitive levels.
I cant demo it since I did not try to practice it when the guy showed how in practice mode because I dont want to get used to a crutch to play the game but honestly, I am wondering why I bother if this goes unfixed for more than a year.
The reason there isnt more complaints is because a-its not obvious in the game unless you know it exists. The guy regularly gets messages asking what his build is as people just think he somehow has a "better build". b-those who use it keep it mostly secret for fear of it being patched. - EA_Aljo3 years ago

I'll keep an eye out for it. Thanks for the report.
- kezz1233 years agoNew Veteran@EA_Aljo If you play an opponent (likely with construction boots because that seems to be the tryhard badge this year) and he seems really good and moving really well on the ice while skating in a straight line but looking like hes rapidly sort of making really small twitching like motions that looks a bit funnny, hes doing it.
- @kezz123 See you hinder yourself by not using what is in the game. Use it til it gets fixed. No one is gonna feel sorry for someone wanting to play "legit"...Online is all about Play To Win. I mean what if the method still exists in NHL 24 even if people reported about it? Either they are OK with it or no fix in sight. I mean leagues I play in are banning certain X-factors that I loved using so it just means gotta change and adapt.

Ah, the ol' shotgun/claymore debate. If it's in the game, you might as well use and abuse it until something is done about it *shrug*.
I can appreciate leagues putting bans on certain X-Factors; does that really change how the game is played? - kdsmaclean3 years agoSeasoned Rookie
This isn't exactly what he's referring to, but in the same vain of broken combination of skating mechanics.
It's an entire tutorial on how to combine L2 with stride dekes in order to obtain completely inauthentic speed boosts.
Can you confirm whether or not you've seen this before? Or the developers?
Edit: Removed video. -CM

Thanks for the video. I'll pass it on to the team. I'm going to remove it from this thread though as I do see the potential to abuse this. I ran it by the team and they are aware of it.

Aside from the speed burst, this does give us a similar ability that we used to have with 45 degree cuts, if anyone remembers that feature.
I actually like the technique involved in pulling this off, but like I said - the speed burst is legit OP. But if you remove that, it's a handy move in the toolbelt.
The game is just full of cancerous players. No integrity. Just "well, they're doing it so that must mean I should stoop to their level".
It doesn't set an example for the community and it sure as hell doesn't motivate the developers to make any real changes.
The short side glitch was replaced by far side. The poke check trip was replaced with stick lift slashing penalties. Hits are nearly useless if you're not perfectly positioned. So, again, there is no motivation for players to get creative with their defensive game. It's just use the aim assisted poke check as it nearly never ends up in tripping penalties. Even if you're not in a good position.
If you're going to hand out slashing or hooking penalties when you're not positioned properly. You should hold the same standard for the poke check.
NHL 23 is not a good look on EA Sports. We know their FIFA franchise is their prized child. Madden is looking to get cancelled over multiple years of failure.
I honestly don't see NHL getting any better. The last 3 years especially. The community population has plummeted. When it took seconds to find games before it can take minutes. Players would be on at all hours of the day and night.
Now? There's barely 100 people online. It takes forever to find games in HUT and Online Versus. You end up playing the same 10 players over and over again.
The game as it stands consists of spamming aim assist poke check, behind the net cross crease, far side wrap around, far side high slot, and glitching the player's stick through the boards with a bounce speed boost.
It's really disappointing and I instead of buying the game on impulse every year by preorder. I will be passing and waiting until it hits game pass.
The forums speak for themselves as there are over half of the topics of the game being very poorly thought out. Instead of adding fancy looking graphics or pointless HUT game modes. Polish the actual game mechanics and balance it.
- @TTZ_Dipsy These are banned.
Gold and Silver Truculence
Gold and Silver Unstoppable force
Gold and Silver Big Tipper
They thought about banning Close Quarters but they don't want less scoring. No Contest was close to getting banned also but wasn't considered a huge problem.
Big Tipper because of the randomness resulting in throw things on net for tips and hope for the best.
Truculence to stop from people get run over left and right allowing for easier offense
Unstoppable Force removed probably because without Truc it becomes godlike.
But as you can see the league and esports prefer to keep the scoring as high as possible. - @NihilistWolfe The 6s community is still doing just fine. The problem with things like HUT is that new players or casual ones have a harder time competing against those that live for it. It's because the devs create a dumb system where as cards go up in overall they make them cost so much more in resources which isn't the way to go. If you keep things closer in value of a turn-in then more people would be willing to stick around. Usually after playing for 2 months I find myself that even grinding doesn't get me enough upgrade cards to matter so I just stop completely.
Scoring is always gonna be a top priority for the game. Even the real NHL is always promoting and looking for ways to increase scoring. Defense in a video game is just boring and for many watching it live is boring too.
EA is just out of touch when it comes to make quality that the people desire. They have slowly ruined Apex over time. A game that made them huuuuuuuge bank can't even add cross-progression or the 120fps mode on consoles. All their competition has had it for years. EA only looks at making money with the least amount of effort possible. - kezz1233 years agoNew Veteran
Go watch the team "Tilt" playing 3s.
Completely disgraceful. They all are abusing the living bejeezus out of the glitch.
