Strategies in NHL 23
Are they going to fix strategies in the game so we can go back and edited them like we did in previous games? (picture I’ve provided.)

I was only just playing yesterday and what the coach sets to what I would said just makes it ridiculous. Can’t even open up the ice - @Andochiefs Yeah it’s such a stupid poor decision they made.. and on top of the poor decision they just break more things with each patch.. the patches don’t even include fixes, just more bugs lol.. for offline modes anyways
- @heavydutyrammer I've stopped playing NHL23 . The coaching thing is really really annoying. They should be allowing us to design on own plays. I really want to have one winger park in front of the net but I can't. And even if by some miracle a player does, as soon as the puck is in the goalies hands the player doesn't jam the net, he runs away, which makes it easy for the goalie to pass the puck. Defenders don't really challenge players entering the zone like today's NHL players do either. And I have no option to fix it.
And the AI is dumb beyond belief since they went to frostbite . I recently had a situation in the offensive zone where a puck went way up in the air and landed 2 to 3 feet in front of my winger. The defender was 6 feet away. The winger backed up a foot and let the defender take the puck. Like what?????
I like to player with position lock on centre, and in NHL 21 wingers would go to the open spot. Off the draw in the ozone, if I won, the defender would pass the puck to the winger for a one timer. I loved that play. In NHL 23, it happens maybe one out of 50 times. And I have no way to tell the AI that's the play I want to run.
I'm also sick of every player on my team that gets hit is out of the play for 20 seconds. You literally have to put an ability in every player on your team to counteract it. Not every hit is going to knock the wind out.
I did like being able to decide who I passed the Cup to if I won the Cup, and the play by play is better this year, but that's not enough to keep me around.
I'm back to NHL 21. I can't see coming back to NHL 24 unless there are massive improvements and I'm not optimistic. This literally could be the last NHL game a buy unless another studio builds one. 14 pages and 140 comments

For the first time in a long time, I actually sat down this weekend to start and play through a franchise. I could maybe in some sort of scenario live with them locking us out of strategies, although what they really should do is just have line chemistry all reset to 0 if strategies are manually changed.
Anyways, I could live with it if we had way more coaches available to hire mid season and more importantly we were able to manually select from those coaches every time we start a new franchise. I spent so much of my time having to start up a new franchise just to find a coach that matched how I wanted to play/build my team that it’s just not worth it to even start.
I don’t agree with locking player edits either, at least with that I could change up X-factors to compensate and it wouldn’t cause me to completely sour on the game like this does.
