Stuck in "select sides" screen

Product: NHL 23
Platform:PlayStation 5
What is your gamertag/PSN ID?
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play rivals in hut
What happens when the bug occurs? I want to play rivals or challanges and am stuck in the "select sides" screen, cant start the game but cant go back either, the circle button wont wirk either, habe to quit the game.
What do you expect to see? A start button.
Was the issue in online or offline mode? Online
Insert Game Mode or Feature here HUT - Rivals - Challenges
What time did you see the bug? (HH:MM AM/PM)
What is your time zone?

    Hello, everyone. It's possible that having a custom gamerpic is causing this. This is a temporary workaround while we work to resolve the issue. Please update your gamerpic to be a default image and not a custom one.

    @EA_Aljo Just to be sure: I have to do a hard restart , not a hard reset, right?

    If won't work;
    Is there a way to do the update again?

    Just hold the power button down on your console until it turns off. Then, turn it back on again.

    I've hard reset and I'm running version 1.3 as confirmed by checking the game details. I'm still stuck at select sides, and I'm completely unable to start a game.

    @DBacon123 

    Let's try a complete power cycle. Try following these steps: unplug your modem/router and console. After 2 minutes plug in the modem/router. Let them come back online completely. Then plug in your console and start it up. Let me know if that helps or not. Thanks!

    That didn't work. Still getting the same issue. I also tried clearing my saved data from my xbox. That didn't work either.

    @DBacon123 

    Try deleting NHL 23 and download it again. This is pretty odd as every other report I've seen was resolved with the steps I've provided so I think it's just best to try to start over. This won't delete any online progress, but it's possible you'll lose offline progress. Normally, that downloads from the cloud, but I can't guarantee it.

    Re-installing now. Not gonna lie, I'm a bit upset that I'm having to re-download a 40 GB game. It'll take about 30 minutes, so I'll report back once it's installed.

    After completely re-installing the game, I'm still having the same issue.

    Edit: I also just found out that I can't play online versus because of this either... awesome.

    @DBacon123 

    Thanks for trying that. Apologies for the frustration. Try deleting the personal saved data for NHL 23. Press the Guide button and then highlight the NHL 23 tile. Then, hit the Menu button. It's the small one to the right of the Guide button with 3 horizontal lines on it. Next, go to Manage game and add-ons > Saved data. Delete the file with your gamertag on it. There is the risk of losing offline saves and changes to settings you've made. Normally, those download from the cloud, but I can't guarantee this. Let me know what happens. Thanks!

    @DBacon123 

    Also, make sure you get the latest roster update. Since it added presentation to all teams, maybe it's somehow affecting this.
