Suggestions for the future.
I have posted a lot of this stuff before but posting again with more stuff added because it'd still be nice to see added.
Customization (Skaters/Goalies)
- Helmet : Thin visors. Long hair can actually flow out the back and sides. Instead of a college helmet and a bubble helmet, be able to add a black or white cage to any of the normal helmets, especially now that woman's hockey is very prominant in HUT it looks dumb that they're all wearing the same bulky * "college" helmet.
- Gloves : Changing the palm colour of your gloves to match one of your teams' colours and it would look even better on teams that wear plain black gloves (Pastrnak has yellow ones, Giroux used to use orange ones on Philly), no cuff rolls on the gloves (Kaprizov)
- Jerseys : Rolled up sleeves, elbow pads showing (tons of European players do this).
- Sticks : Shorter stick for slightly better puckhandling and release, normal length for normal stats, longer for slightly better pokechecking/defensive stick. Different curves and flexes. Able to change the colour of the stick to match my teams colours, or any generic colour. (Similar to how Bauer has different coloured options and Matthews used a custom coloured CCM stick) Add in team logo or a country's flag onto a part of the stick. Spray Paint the bottom of the stick white or black. Namebars that have your Be a Pro character's name.
- Tape Jobs : Add in some different tape jobs on the handle and blade (Letang, Giroux, Stueztle, Pastrnak for the handle and Pastrnak, Klima, Gusev, Lindros, Sharp, Fiala, Orr, Panarin, Kaliyev for the blade just to name a few.) Able to have puck marks on the stick like Kane or Ovi.
- Pants : White string hanging like Ovi or Stamkos.
- Skates : Able to have the floppy white felt tongues, change colours of the skate (Matthews wears blue CCMs). Bring back the blade radius options.
- Goalie Masks : Just choosing colours and a choice from like 5 graphics plus what team logos you want on it would be a great addition for create a team goalies and EASHL
Customization (Teams)
- More logos : Old NHL ones, AHL ones, European ones, CHL ones. Flags. 5 logo options instead of 3.
- Total Jersey Customization : Neckline, shoulders, arm sleeves, stripes on front or bottom, Adidas or CCM or Nike.
- More Fonts : Old teams fonts, current ones, minor league ones, fun ones you can source from online.
- More Pant options
- Helmet stripings like the NFL or NCAA.
- Glove Colouring : For the love of god, fix the glove colouring. Nothing ever matches or looks good because every single area is different on each glove. There is literally no way to just get 1 standard glove across the board like every single team has. Fix the glove colouring. Some gloves will have white fingers, some will have black, some have red, or whatever colours the team is. Its awful.
- Socks : ADD MORE SOCK TEMPLATES ITS BEEN 5 YEARS
- Arenas : Need more large sized rinks and medium sized rinks added.
- Crowd Chants : Bring em back. "Go Team Name Go" or "Lets Go Team Name" to start periods/powerplays, "Ref you Suck" when you're taking a lot of penalties, even add in some player name chants for when they accomplish something huge.
- Crowd : Go watch a youtube video on European hockey crowds and add in stuff from that. Flags waving, signs, chants, everything.
- Banners : For Stanley Cup/Number retirements(down below). Choose from set designs, what colours, and which of the team logos.
Franchise Mode :
- NMCs/NTCs : Would be huge for lowering contract costs, attracting FAs
- Trade Deadline style July 1st for Free Agency. Bidding wars for top guys, interviews/offers from both sides - a few examples : "I'll sign here if you give me a NMC for the last 3 years of the deal" (YES) (NO), "A divisional rival is offering me $500,000 more, would you match that?" (YES) (NO), or "I've always wanted to play for this team, I'm willing to take a pay cut to play here" (YES) (NO). Also add in more reasons for turning down contracts - I'm getting older and want to win, I don't think I'd fit into this locker room, I really want to be in the top 6 and feel I wouldn't be here. Make it seem like they're playing for more than money.
- Customizable draft classes before the season starts. During the preseason you can FULLY edit draft prospects (Info, Face, Gear, Attributes, X-Factors, Skating/Shooting) . Make a dude ranked 700th High Franchise, who cares! Its MY OFFLINE FRANCHISE MODE, I SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO.
- Customizable players : In an offline game mode that does not affect anyone else on this planet whatsoever, I should be allowed to change everything about these players. If I want to make Connor McDavid a 57 overall, I should be able to. Keep their base info unchangeable if you want (name, birthday, where they're from), but everything else should be allowed to be changed, even their contract.
- IIHF Events (Franchise/Be a Pro) : World Juniors for Prospects and World Championships during the playoffs for players who don't make it. I can choose to send my 18 year old rookie to the WJC and if he does good he gets to come back with a really high morale. If a player on my team goes to the World Championships he might get a slight boost in trade value if he does good but also risks injury.
- Retire numbers : After each season when players retire it gives you the option to retire their number if they played for your team. Take the number out of circulation for the next season and then at the "promotion nights" tab, you choose at what game that previous players number is retired. Maximum 20 second pre-game intro of the number being raised.
- Stanley Cup Banners : 20 second pre-game intro at the start of each season after winning the cup of the banner raising.
Be a Pro :
- Choose my own potential : If I want to be a depth power forward who plays 6 minutes a night. I should be able to do that. I don't feel like being the greatest player in history every time.
- Get rid of interviews or fix them entirely/make them sparse.
- Customizable attributes.
- Choose my number immediately upon joining a new team instead of being given a number that I do not want. EVEN IF THE NUMBER I WANT IS AVAILABLE LET ME PICK.
- Better contract negotiation : Be able to pick any team in the league to negotiate a contract with. - ex : I choose Colorado. Colorado offers $5,500,000 x 5. I have the options to sign it, add in an NMC/NTC or add in a clause to be an assistant captain upon signing. They can turn that down if they don't want it, or change it depending on what they want to sign me to. Maybe they counter with 6 x 3 instead of 5.5 x 5. Have a maximum of 3 attempts to work it out, then a final offer/decision.
- Make it so contract money can be turned into attributes/XP for attributes - ex : $1,000,000 = 1,000 XP
- Stop making me the captain until the current captain leaves.
- Let me edit team strategies if I'm a captain/assistant captain or an 85+ overall
General :
- AI : Make the AI better/smarter in every single way, coaches need to change their tactics depending on the game/situation all the time, why does the AI dedicate to the trap when its 5-0 for the other team? Why do all the players play the exact same no matter their player type?. Make it so AI controlling a grinder, play like a grinder. Goes hard into the corners, makes big hits if they're there to be made. Make a 3rd line centre 2-way forward, play as a shutdown centre who's just shadowing the other teams best players and winning important faceoffs. Stop having them cheat so much to overlook how dumb they are.
- Classic arenas would be really cool to see.
