Is this happening in drop-ins or club or both? Also, does it still happen if you restart the game?
- @EA_Aljo For me it also happens when I restart the game. I'm on series X.

Is this happening to anyone else on your club? Also, try changing all of your visuals. Helmet, gloves, head, etc. Possibly, something is bugged and causing this. If that doesn't help, can you get me a video of what's happening?
- @EA_Aljo I was the only one in my club who had this issue as of yet. I think it happened after changing all of my goalie visuals. I restarted the game around 5-6 times and still wasn't able to select a position. Then, restarted my Xbox, changed my customization and I was finally able to select a position and play with my friends. Hope this helps!

When this happens to me I restart my Xbox and then it works but if I switch games and come back into nhl 23 the same problem pops up again and I have to restart my Xbox, very inconvenient

Did you try changing all of your gear as suggested above?
No, that hasn’t helped and I also notice I’m getting stuck on the online vs screen as well, could this have something to do with my network type?

It's possible this is a connection issue. Especially, if you're having trouble with Online Versus since those games don't take place on our servers. What system are you playing on? You should be able to go to the network settings screen and check your NAT. If it's Type 3 or Strict, that will cause issues with connecting to other players.
