Boarding penalties make no sense.

Can someone at EA please explain to me how your game defines boarding calls? This is a but odd to me seeing you will do massive hit cam style hits on the boards and have no call but you can go in a bump a player as they skate and they tap the boards and it is a boarding call. This should be reversed as those big hits on the board (especially ones that bring up the option to fight) are never being called. I have been trying to figure out when I can and can't hit a player close to the boards and have no idea what so ever.

  • @MasterB89 We had a guy last night standing in front of the net and a guy tried some deke in front and got crushed and our guy got a charging penalty. Some of these penalties make zero sense but I will say, look at the officiating in real life. I honestly can't tell which is worse, EA or NHL. They do need to be looked at though, some really weird things happening and not happening.

@rabid55wolverineI do not disagree about real-life refs being horrible. It's been like that for a few years now easily but playing more of NHL 24 I have to say it makes the NHL refs in real life look ELITE. That is the worst part cause the AI can obstruction interfere and cross-check for no reason at all but also to a player not even close to the puck with no recourse at all. I have actually bumped up the AI sliders for penalties and I can still count at least 3-5 instances in games where a user player is interfered with or cross-checked who hasn't even touched the puck and no calls at all.

  • @MasterB89 Yeah I think the boarding calls are completely random, I've gotten them consistently when the player being hit does not touch the boards. I think it has to be a glitch

@drtydaddydevito I feel it is too, just based on the fact of how they are being called or not being called but it actually seems to be an overall issue with odd penalty calls overall. I had one in a game I played today where an AI player cross checked a player who never touched the puck (so either cross check or obstruction penalty) but there was a non call and then a few minutes later User player got a penalty for interference on the shot that turns into a check glitch that is in the game. I tend to see at least 3-5 at least of non calls for the AI specifically, usually on plays where my player is not even the puck carrier or even in the play at all. Not sure if that is a glitch or just how they have programmed the game to handle calls.
