Bring it back.
After a couple of games in I noticed something that used to be in the game but was removed for what reason, I do not know. I decided to compile a list, my list composes from features dating back to NHL 93 on my sega until NHL 20. These features truly is part of the authentic feel of the game of hockey. I just don't understand why hire people in the past who have never played ICE hockey. Anyways here we go:
Broken Glass NHL93 (thank you for bringing it back and leave it there)
Self Injuries from missed hits along the boards(NHL12)
Broken Leg Animation (NHL95)
Noise/Crowd meter (NHL93)
Highlights and updates from other games(NHL93)
Button Mashing fights
Returning from an injury with full visor or jaw piece attachment (NHL11 PS3)
Post whistle scrums (NHL99 PS1)
Face off Tossing (NHL98 PS1)
Blood (NHL93) if my kid can play UFC4 then I do not know why it is not in the game. Slap the M rating for blood, big deal. It's part of the game.
Ability to upgrade team coaching, training equipment, travel(bus, train, jet, plane), scouting, equipment room(skate sharpener..etc), team store and team locker room via points earned through the season. This would effect energy, morale and performance of your team on the road and home games. If you had a star player but your teams locker room, training equipment and travel were all level 1... the star player would perform at 20-25% below of their rating for game 1 of a back to back series then 30-40% below the next night (NHL04)
This is not a rant. It's simply a constructive way of showing you what you forgot, it's not new features. It's what made us fall in love with the series. If I was the producer, I would add these features, slap the M rating and release a trailer with last years features. Let the fans hype up the game. A good game wouldn't need a trailer. I bet if GTA 6 was released without a trailer we would all buy it regardless. This is what made Mario 3, TMNT 2, NHL 94, NBA JAM, GEARS of WAR, Black Ops 1, Fortnite(season 1) so good. The fans did the talking, not the trailers.
