Dumping the puck
What's the deal with the difficulty introduced this year with something as simple as dumping the puck? I mean, it's always been problematic, but this year, it's ridiculous that half the time your ska...

The fact that they designed dumps to look this way, on purpose, and then left it in the game… is laugh out loud funny. Imagine working all year on this game and then showcasing it to a real life hockey player— and then that player has to be like “Wow… that’s… really cool. Good job buddy.” Like it’s some stupid macaroni picture.
I am completely dumbfounded, not just by this decision, but by the attitude towards this sentiment. Of course these people work very hard on this game; of course they love the sport; and of course they want us to be happy. But how am I supposed to react when something so integral to the game gets reduced to a weak little fart? How am I supposed to take any of it seriously when they worked so hard all year— while I impatiently waited, excited— just to see something so bananas crazy?
Imagine instead if it had been a slapshot? And the puck just gave a limp squirt like these dumps? I don’t understand. How does this get designed and then survive rounds of testing and review?? Is it an oversight, or intentional?
I’m not trying to hate. I love the games. I love the sport. And I know many people work very hard to make it happen. That’s precisely why I’m so frustrated. Because this is certainly not the only obvious hockey issue in the game.
All I can say is AMEN 🙏
I also use the HIGH dump in 23, when in my zone as a D sometimes to throw a "long bomb" to one of my forwards leaving the zone early… You should see the smile on my face when it connects 😀
Brings so much to the game, the freedom, the organically ways of making a play without barriers. When I say this, it’s because the idea of Follisimo is not a bad one per say, but it will put another stick in your wheels… Now where am I on the ice ? Am I the spot where I’m gonna blooop a fart or am I good here ?
The way it is for the user now in 23 is perfect. The longer you hold it, the higher it goes, the shorter time you press the button, it goes for a softer/lower dump… Organically !

Dude. Every time we score a goal in this game, it goes to an immediate cutscene—a very intimate and dimly-lit cutscene—where our player celebrates amid his meandering teammates who appear to be ghosts in search of the soul that this game has sucked out of them.
Just think.
Somebody came up with this idea and thought it was good. And then other people had the chance to be like “Um, no lol. This is a hockey game.” And nobody did. They all clapped at the macaroni art and then slapped a hundred dollar price tag on it, wondering why we’re not clapping along.
Now don’t get me started with this goal CELLY 😳 I’ve done it in other threads and I decided not to buy 24 just because of that !!! Other big issues I can't also digest that are game breakers for me, but it only goes to show you what I think about this one… And the fact that they said it was there to stay also eased my decision…
This is not meant to bash the game and to just vomit everywhere. I love this sport more than anything, but when they come up with things like these, wouldn’t there be a way to make it optional ?
They must have put tons of hours when they came up with the ON ICE TRAINER. It’s awesome for people that learn the game. KUDOS to EA for that ! But, they also made it as an option. You don’t like having a Christmas tree on the ice, well you can turn it OFF.
Same thing must have been done with the Pressure Meter, when you design something like this, just design it in way that you can toggle the thing off… No ?
I watched someone on Youtube play it on beta. When I saw that cut scene, I decided its a hard pass this year. The commentating is gimmicky enough but at least you can turn it off. It just looks so bad. Its not immersive at all. Goal horns, goal songs, crowd reactions, it gets worse every year. How they have yet to figure out, and this is for all EA games, the difference in a goal making the game 5-0 or tying it up late in the 3rd in a playoff game is beyond me. It lacks emotion and feeling.
