Game Tax
Curious. Can someone explain the reasoning behind taxing players that sell their player cards?
Edit: Moved thread to HUT forums. -CM
It really sounds like HUT isn't the mode for you. Since you seem to have problem after problem with so many aspects of this mode, maybe an offline mode would be better? That way, you're only playing with base items and pretty much avoid the myriad of issues you've had with HUT.
Obviously, paying for packs is going to give you more chances at the higher rated items. The same items you also can earn for free. Of course, that takes a lot more effort than buying pack after pack and hoping for the best or getting extra fodder for trade ins to build those items. Even then, there's no guarantee you're going to shoot to D1 just because you have a stacked team. It still takes skill to get there.
We all shouldn't have the expectation that higher overalls equal wins. This mode is not only about playing with the best team you can muster, but putting your own skills to the test in what is a very highly competitive game. Generating good scoring chances and shutting down your opponent's offense is going to get better results than just depending on 99s to score for you. You'll often see lower rated teams beat a higher one due to their personal skill. It's going to be more challenging so they've got to step up their game and rely on reading their opponent, using the right strategies, anticipation, proper line changes, etc., instead of throwing a stacked team out there and assuming more of your shots are going in.
Where are the smoke and mirrors? You can see the probabilities of each pack you purchase with points in the store. How are we not being transparent about this? Every item can be earned for free as well. We don't hide the fact that buying packs is a shortcut to getting the best items faster.
I only play offline. However I don't understand your so called logic in your rebuttal comment. I did not inferr that higher rated players should result in more wins. Thats your statement. My contention was the flooding of the market place with variations of same player cards, escalating the cost for an already pre-established value. Is an 98 Cale Makar card any better than the 97 (Example only). Not really. But the cost is quite different. The smoke and mirrors comment was in relationship to this sort of thing. Pretty much the same card, dressed in a different so called pkg. With the cost being extended. I also did not assume that EA was not being transparent. Just the opposite. They make it quite known, what you are getting. In ending this. Since there is not going to be a mutual agreement here. This was a comment, entirely expressed by myself. Exercising the affordability to do so, on a forum such as this. I was not looking for any sort of support. Frustrations about this game are evident in all the comments put out in this communal platform. I was only displaying what I thought might be a better avenue to follow. Personally. Didnt really appreciate the comment about whether Hut was my so called cup of tea!
