How do you hit in hut?

You need to time your hits better. First of all don't go for a big hit when it's too risky, i.e. when your opponent can see the hit coming and has time to evade it. Secondly, when you're holding the right stick down to line up your hit, don't bring the right stick up until you make contact with the player. Finally, you should hit from where the opponent is skating to make full contact, otherwise your hits will often just graze them.

As for your opponent being ten times faster, that's the kind of thing that always gets exaggerated by people who are frustrated with the game and greatly amplified by confirmation bias. People tend to ignore the stuff that goes their way in a game where they're convinced the game itself is somehow favoring their opponent. This has led to long discussions and debates over the years with people all too convinced they know the actual game code better than the developers do.

However, there are a few things that may cause your player to actually be that much slower than an opponent's player: bad control habits (such as making too many pivots when defending against an opponent who's skating in a straight line), player attributes, the pressure system, the puck ragging speed penalty, and playing through an injury.
