Not sure if it's just me or what, but I have yet to win any face-offs using hybrid controls after playing about 10 games with different teams. I know when I played NHL 23 I had a way better chance of winning a face-off here and there using the (x) button. Is this not the case anymore or is their another button to use or is this just a bug?
I can’t seem to win any faceoff using right analog controls in hybrid mode, I don’t get why EA had to change it on PlayStation, it used to left analog and X button, is there another of regaining these same controls or how do I win faceoffs.
I find it doesn’t work winning any faceoff, tried numerous times and I never win a faceoff? It’s annoying that they’ve got rid of the 94 controls as it’s what I’m used to. Gutted
Totally agree, it’s ruining the game for me to be honest.
Seriously, please do something to this hybrid faceoff. LIke many others, I can never win a faceoff. I've tried everything but no success.
Community ManagerHello, everyone. We're not aware of any issues with taking faceoffs with Hybrid controls. There are numerous tutorials online that explain how grips and counters work. I recommend taking a look at those.
Just tested the faceoff on hybrid and they work just fine.
There's no secret for success, just keep practicing and working on it and you'll eventually get the hang of it! 👍
I wish that forum was more helpful towards new players or poeples struggling at some part of the game though.
The EA staff themself should be coming up with a detailed tutorial for the faceoff. Or any pro center in the community.

I've seen thread on ''how to be good at defense'' or something along the line, which is awesome....If someone could come up with a ''How to be good on faceoff'' thread too to help poeples that, to this day still have problems doing proper faceoff. Faceoff arent rocket science but there's definitly lots of little things/tips to remember to be successful.
Well. I've studied the tutorials and tried everything but still loosing every faceoff. I'm an old man and played these games forever. Don't forget that there are many people who have problems with their hands, senses and coordination. They want to play and enjoy the game too. NHL 94 controls were easier to handle if your health didn't allow you to use both sticks. People are not robots.
In NHL23, Bullys could be played with the left stick and A or Y on Xbox...
