Yes. That's what I'm saying. Social media and online forums are where you go to complain so there is a very large part of the community that we don't hear from. Again though, we act on the feedback provided by the communities we hear from the most. Which, again, are the ones that are most critical. Your comment about listening to the majority really isn't true when it's the minority that is giving us the most feedback. Which, we have been acting on.
@EA_AljoIf you were listening to the community, the game wouldnât have become what it is now. Arcade style unrealistic hockey. Who asked for that? I read a lot of comments on this forum about people that would like to play a video game that looks more like a simulation. Interference is everywhere in this game, not only on goalie but when you try to hit a player and someone purposely got in between, thatâs interference, when you get knock down in front of the net and you donât have puck possession, thatâs also interference. Live moments in HUT are the worst for interference. It wasnât as bad in previous years. Show me one post, from previous years where someone ask to add more interference to the game.

Then Iâm sorry, youâre playing in your own circle of friends/cowokers and not actually engaging in the community. Talk to ANYONE online about this and I promise you theyâll say itâs the worst nhl to date. In no way is social media is just âwhere you go to complain.â Go to any successful gameâs forums, social media, what have you, and it wonât be filled with people begging to fix things that have been broken from day one, if not longer.

Incorrect. There's no clout in saying positive things about this game. In fact, saying anything positive gets you shunned and labelled as a 'shill'. It really is perplexing why people who clam the game is broken "year after year" are constantly buying the game, year after year. We played a World of CHel game against a team last night with player names all "this game is trash" etc etc. They all had 500+ goals and almost 1000 pts each. Who plays a game that much that they hate?

Social media is a cesspool of opinions and hot-takes. It's absolutely where people go to yell into the void. Anything that confirms their bias is 'liked', 're-tweeted', and anything that opposes that opinion (regardless of its truth) is blocked and ignored - fortifying the echochamber.

Always telling people what's wrong or right...If the moderator tolerates you on this forum, that's obviously because you work for EA Sports. So, if your so proud of your product, why don't you come forward and tell us what's your implication to the development of NHL 24.

@HockeyChkThey manage every year to make the game worse ,like I've said before just because they made changes doesn't mean it's good and no one should be taking a bow or patting themselves on their back for this game it's the worst of the series, in my opinion

Is there any plans to look into(should i say fix) the issues of getting interference penalties while trying to be in a ânet front battleâ and i try to push off instead of spin off yet i get an interference penalty. Also, still see a ton of interference calls when trying to shoot rebounds in front while near a defender. Any thoughts on this? I see it happen every time my club plays. I only play Chel.

That's because there's a lot of us who don't spend time in echo-chambers where all anyone does is complain for fake internet points. We don't give into the victimization that every bad bounce is because some developer at EA has it out for us. We can acknowledge when an opponent is more skilled than us rather than lay all of our turnovers & bad decisions at the feet of "developers with no hockey IQ".
We enjoy the game for what it is. We have our gripes, absolutely. But we also appreciate the ability for my friends and I, scattered geographically, to join up on a moment's notice and play some 6v6 virtual hockey. I like being able to quickly play an OVP game against skilled opponents. There have been no barriers to entry for either of these. When new gameplay elements are added, we adapt. When old controls are changed, we adapt. When the developers try to refresh the meta, we try to play to the strengths of the changes rather than post in echo-chambers demanding the changes be reverted to fit our particular playstyle.
There's a whole population of people playing this game that don't concern themselves with demanding updates, arguing about philosophical implications of subtle gameplay changes or spending any time trying to convince everyone else the game is terrible because they took a sweaty L after dumping real world $$$$ on HUT packs that they thought should give them an advantage over all of their opponents.
Once you poke your head out of the cesspool of social media, you'll realize there's a whole world of just enjoying the game for what it is without getting all worked up and forming an online identity surrounding a general disdain for a videogame.
Community ManagerAs you said, some people don't want to play any more. However, there is still a healthy amount of players so obviously there are those that still enjoy the game. That said though, not everyone has the same idea of what a good hockey game is. We have a very diverse playerbase that have different ideas of what makes this game fun. We also have been accused for many years of not making enough changes. The community repeats the same thing every year. It's just a roster update with a new cover. Then we make changes and people just ask for what we had before. If it were truly a copy and paste with a new roster, I guess I don't see why there would be so much disagreement with that. Regardless, people want meaningful change while retaining the authenticity of hockey. That's what I'd love to see as well. Again though, that's not what everyone wants and we have to do our best to try to accommodate the playerbase as a whole. Not just the sim players. Which, I'm still convinced don't truly want a sim game due to the very high amount of pushback we get when something is made harder.
We made some big changes this year and a lot was learned from it. We'll take that feedback and apply it to future games. We have to keep trying to improve this game year after year. That's not always going to be well received. We can't find out if we don't try though.

They didn't though. They made some fundamental changes to the control scheme to make the game more accessible and also to add a refreshing hitting mechanism that is far more realistic than just holding UP on RS and waiting for the game to assist you in making a hit.
Most of the "people who don't want to play anymore" because of those changes are doing themselves a disservice by not taking the time to adapt to the new controls and mechanisms. They're not perfect, but they're also not broken.

Not necessarily. Although you're very experienced and I don't doubt your knowledge of the sport itself, being able to make decisions surrounding the translation of that sport into 1's and 0's playable with a controller requires a whole team of people with vast levels of experience.

This game gets worse by the day this was interference, here's an idea maybe for 25 enough with the gimmicks and make the game play better ,I think a lot of the player base would agree with that, even the hard-core players

I never said this isn't the community. While it is a small portion of the playerbase, it's still a part of the overall community and probably holds the most weight when it comes to what gets updated due to the feedback we receive here. The point of what I said is that there are many people enjoying the game. Far more than actually post here.
