@EA_Aljo Thanks for the reply.
I'm not going to lie and say I was playing a great game, but the only bad things I did were the 2 trips. Assists should 1000% be factored into the algorithm controlling team play. It's actually kind of ridiculous that they're not. On top of that, the calculation should take into account the length of time a person is holding onto the puck as well.
I played a 6v6 drop-in game yesterday with someone on the attack who just held onto the puck and skated multiple circles in the offensive zone, never passed to anyone and then finally took a shot. In that instance, we were awarded pressure time and, I'll bet anything, he was rewarded with some kind of increase in teamplay for taking a shot after seriously 15-20 seconds of puck hogging.
In all of 23 I was not kicked from a single game. Not one.
I take 2 bad penalties in my very first game in 24 and I'm booted. That seems extremely weird to me. Especially considering I'm constantly playing with defensemen that think they're forwards, left wings and left d that spend all their time on the right side and goalies that think it's funny to leave the crease and let tons of goals in. I can't remember a single time they've been kicked from the game. In fact, I'm usually the one that ends up leaving because the experience has already been ruined way before any teamplay check is going to boot them (if it does).
Kicking someone for making mistakes that are normal hockey plays should not be happening.
I just found out that you're not supposed to get kicked in club play. So, that would also be why I didn't see it. That said, there were very few penalties and everyone was generally playing their positions as they should be. I know that's not always the case in drop-ins. Regardless, it looks like there is an issue here. It's been reported to the team.
I'll keep an eye out for more reports on this. I know these mechanics have never been quite perfect so it would be good to see them balanced over time.

Thank you! If I run into this again, I'll post here with some video. I promise I'm not a bad player, haha

All good. I'm not saying you're a bad player. Even the best of us have the occasional rough game 🙂

An occasional rough game should not result in being kicked.
The kicked for poor team play was designed to boot trolls who want to ruin other players experience.
Sure it can be tough to get it perfect, but a couple penalties and a few face-off losses shouldn't result in getting booted.

I was just kicked from a club game with me and one human teammate. I took 2 penalties. They scored and i got booted?? How are we getting booted while NOT playing in a drop in game?? Im playing 6x6 with my club not randoms.

You do get kicked out at clubs. We had this happen several times tonight. It is just stupid. We don’t want this to happen.

I got kicked in my 3v3 club match with 30 seconds left in the game and got DNF’d for poor team play. Basically played the entire game and got kicked for losing faceoffs and two legit tripping penalties because I accidentally loaded in as a smaller player as the center and got muscled out of 18-21 faceoffs. Definitely needs to be a change here

got kick from club twice, this time for a offside. Nhl24 is a Joke and ea should be a shame. i want play again until you fix you game. getting kick from a drop-in i can understand. but from my club. nah it ridiculous.

kick from club game. for a offside. nhl24 is a joke, and i have played them all since NLHPA hockey 93. getting kick from club is just ridiculous. i want play again until there a update.
- HighTmatthew2 years agoNew Veteran@EA_Aljo Hey aljo could you ask a team to come up with a mechanic to counter people throwing in clubs games. For example there was a game I pick up a random D man and he is purposefully calling for the puck from the AI player every time then immediately giving the puck to the other teak and skating into the neutral zone and lying down. Obviously he is ruining my game intentionally and currently there is absolutely nothing I(as the owner of the club) can do about it. Perhaps a vote to kick option or maybe just a more intelligent teammate grade system to notice when someone is lying in a zone away from the puck for extended periods of time. Thanks!

The team is aware of this. Hopefully, we'll see some anti-griefing measures added in the future.

Any updates on being kicked out of ranked club games? It literally ruins the game, just take out the mechanism completely for club games.

This is still definitely happening in club play, refer to my last message to you.

My buddy and I are getting booted from clubs all the time. It’s becoming unplayable. Is there gonna be a fix for this?

Getting booted from clubs games is so * dumb.
Yea… it’s ruining the only reason that we play. No idea why this is a feature

Are you taking a high amount of penalties? Committing icings, going offsides, losing a lot of faceoffs? These are reasons you could get kicked for poor teamplay. All things that are under your control.

My teammate in club was just booted last night for poor team play in 6v6 clubs. Hes in my club, we had the allow drop in skater/goalie turned off. There is no reason for a member of your club to ever be booted from a game because of bad team play. The GM of the club has the ability to allow or kick players from their own club so its ultimately on the GM to handle bad team players. This was the second time in 2 days we had someone kicked. The first cost us a win because there was only 2 of us playing and we were up 4-1 in 3rd. It’s ridiculous that this even happens let alone for your friends in your club. Theres a drop in section so putting drop in players on your club is a ridiculous idea anyhow. If I wanted randoms or drop ins, id play the drop in game type.

Hi as recent as March 8th I was kicked for "poor team play" when I took 2 interference penalties for which this game was supposed to have fixed on one time shots or things near the net. It was a tight 1-0 game til the other team scored on one of my penalties. There was no bad play by me it was a cagey affair the whole game plus this was with 2:28 in the 3rd period. Why would I wanna take a penalty there? If any player deserves to be kicked it's the AI defense for their * play. Thank you for hearing my grievance.

What was addressed was taking penalties by defenders in front of the net for shoves. Not penalties from trying to shoot loose pucks. I hope that gets fixed sooner than later. It's definitely annoying.

Defensively, yes, the changes are great, and although some tweaking still needs done they’re well appreciated. But in the offensive zone why is it an interference penalty when you push somebody regardless if it’s an L2 bug or not? Slamming someone to the ice, obviously is a penalty but pushing and shoving is part of the game. Net front battles should be more engaging both ways
