NCAA and KHL Licensing

Can we expect there to ever be licensing between EA Sports and the NCAA and NHL so that we can have access to these players? I know this is a complex subject with lots of red tape involved, but it would be really nice to have access to these players, sucks to wait until the end of the NHL year to finally see only a few pop up in the game.

Also in franchise mode, it would be nice to be able to allow your prospects to still play overseas until you need them, just like in real hockey. Its already done with CHL so it should not be a difficult thing to add in. I could go on about the need to make a lot of changes to improve the Franchise mode, including a better trade system that isn't so unbalanced, but there are many threads for that already.

    Hey, @admiral745

I really don't know if we'll get the licensing for the NCAA. It seems that might be more possible now than previously so I wouldn't say it'll never happen. In regards to the KHL though, I think there's little to no chance we'll see them added to the game.

Thanks for the Franchise Mode feedback. Appreciate it!

Thanks for the quick response. The NCAA should defineitely be more of a priority and would add so much depth to the game. Any insights into why these licenses are more challenging to acquire/achieve?

In the case of the KHL, that league is based in Russia with primarily Russian teams. We are not allowing any Russian teams in the game currently.

As far as other leagues go, I'm not involved in licensing whatsoever and we don't provide details on what goes on behind the scenes. I just know we try to include as many leagues as we can.

Thanks, I was wondering if it was something like that. It would be great if we could see the women's teams show up in game. they were featured on  the 23 edition, but then we could not actually access their league/players. There are some fatastic women's players out there and it would wonderul to see their league added in as well. Thanks for your respsonses

  • @admiral745 You're right, that would be nice to see the NCAA and PWHL in an NHL video game sometime. Would be also nice see junior league USHL in the NHL 25. In Europe is many leagues which would be nice see in the future in an NHL video game. Such leagues are:
    Mestis (second-highest league in Finland)
DEL 2 (second-highest league in Germany)
Swiss League (second-highest league in Switzerland)
Slovak Extraliga (highest-level league in Slovakia)

Agree on every single one of those. When I put together a franchise league I like to have a wide variety of players to choose from, and usually bring in a bunch of players from other leagues to play on all teams.

I like create players and teams. It's main reason I wanted, that we would have possibility use players of women's national teams in team creation. Now if we want for example use Sarah Nurse in our created team, our need re create her to the game. It's frustrating. In addition , i'm noticed, that if I create 20 female player and I use them in my created team, I can't play with this team against women's national teams.
