We already had 1 button hipchecks in previous titles - it was only because of new control schemes they got axed and those changes were so bad that you could count on 1 hand how many people tried to use em, despite being extremely powerful.
They literally just replaced last years horrible truculence hits; they aren't what ruined the game - the real problem is EA taking their sweet time to actually try to balance hipchecks to account for momentum and build size and the fact that nobody was willing (or able) to figure out how to actually dish out a shoulder check.
My buddy is a 5'7 playmaker and dishing out insane shoulderchecks on huge players - its pretty easy to do but nobody is willing to admit it.
Everything about goalies and defensive AI needs fixing. I get it, I'm a broken record player at this point, but fundamental changes like these will branch off into all modes; nobody will get everything they want but at least all types of players can still benefit from something...
We still have 0 word about 25, not even the reveal and thats both alarming and concerning.
- @TTZ_Dipsy I think the information will come out either this Friday or the next. Just a guess though but it would go on point with what they did last year. I think right now they are letting FC showcase their stuff.

I doubt there is that much overlap between soccer and hockey players.
It not like they're all gonna be wildy different anyway -- If anything, it would benefit them more to have an all access sports extravaganza early where they can hype everyone on the year's general "theme".

You're not wrong; the lack of information sometimes tends to lead to unfavorable releases.
However, the nature of the gaming community - especially this one - is so volatile that it's no surprise EA would withhold information in the event they need to change course on a planned feature.
