NHL 24 Presentation Deep Dive

Let’s give credit when is due. 

Good job EA for new face scans, adding cage/full visor on every helmets. The no tape stick, the attention to details on what it seems, every NHL jerseys to be HD with ads. The new creation zone updates and upgrades (clapping). I can’t wait to create my 09-10 and 13-14 rosters on PS5. 

It wouldn’t be a forum without complaints haha, so I’ll go with 5. Not really complaints but constructive suggestions.

1. As many players before asked/suggested. 
The spotlight goals are not bad. But it feels like they will become so repetitive and over the top for nothing in short time. I don’t mind having them for milestones. 25-50-60 goals during a year or 200th goals in a career. To see them every time, away teams.. huh..

2. Pressure system. Sleeveless gaming on Youtube, and many other players just like me are somehow off about this idea of a bigggggg circle in the middle of the zone. Worse, the big rectangle with a 30 seconds countdown. I saw this kind of graphics watching hockey on TNT for Powerplay. So I get where this comes from. But, why not using boards or let us remove it in options? Every threads and comments I see speak about this…

3. Let’s talk about audio! Great to see new songs, better atmosphere in the game, it was much needed! I’m hyped, butttt in NHL22, we had passing, shots, horn, songs through the controller speaker. NHL23 didn’t have it. Will it be in NHL24? For those who don’t have, mute it or remove it in settings. But I thought it was nice to hear crisp passing in my controller. And we all know EA can, they did it.   

4. It’s a picky little thing and I might be the only one who cares about that! Window reflections. We didn’t have them in NHL22, EA put them in NHL23 and god it was a nice little sleek touch. But then, in NHL24 no more! Any explanations why? Because of the broken glass? 

5. Finally, last thing, I created a thread about this. Could it be possible to have visor Malkin, Sykora and other players wore in 2003-2011. Since the design is already there, the full face and cage can be put on any helmets. It would only requires to remove the bottom part. 

Loool Darude Sandstorm.. alright, alright, let's go. Overall a nice chunk of goodies - I remember doing a test a while back and see how they have tweaked ideas due to feedback; it really looks like they are really trying

Intressting what we will see at the franchise mode ( offline modes in general ) deep dive. Maybe next friday ? Curious about the news. Also would be nice to get something to change the goalie masks, that each goalie can get his own design. Simple changes of the masks would be a huge win. 

Hope strongly we will get full customization options for player appearance. To change only beards is not much to come closer to real appearance.

All this looks pretty good and a step in the right direction. I personally preferred the old style celebrations and although I do like the digital boards, could do without them being so flashy for the full pressure meter. I probably won’t even notice these after one day, so overall a solid job on the presentation side of things.

What exactly do you want with full presentation? As far as on-ice projections go, I don't have any details on that or the Bruins goalie hug.

Full presentation has not been added back, but we are focusing on broadcast improvements for the future of the franchise.
