@PernellKarl027When I was playing defense in the beta I felt so slow especially if i tried to gain speed from standing still. I was getting walked from behind the goal line til I realized I just can't stop moving or it is game over. I never experienced that from any of the others. Remember I'm also a 6v6 player.
So is this supposed to be good ? Cause I really don’t like the sound of this TBH….
Same here...won't buy the game until we can disable the pressure meter.
There's no way I'm gonna be playing with that thing present on the ice.

Hey, everyone. I hate to hear that some of you have to take the year off because of this. I'll absolutely pass on the feedback. Hopefully, we this will be toggleable at some point in the future. Appreciate all the input.

Yes the pressure icons on the ice is a BIG interference on the hockey sport and i get it it is a hockey game but this is to much "fantasy to put a pressure meter on the ice.The EA team should be very careful to do things like this with no option to turn it off it is really mindblowing.
One thought/ide i have is instead of big meters on the ice why not have the controller shake one time when you have full pressure and the boards could have the text full pressure but no way put it on the ice!! - 2 years ago
I pre-orderd last week not even fathoming the EA could drop the ball this hard with not being able to turn that gaudy eyesore of a visual off. Guess i should've done more research . Really, like what genius thought this was a good smh.

For once I’m actually optimistic with the new team that maybe they just will patch the meter so you can toggle it on or off. Last year no true broadcast so I couldn’t play and now this year this… I’m actually gonna give benefit of the doubt and hopeful they allow the option
- 2 years ago
They obviously heard the feedback on true broadcast so I applaud the new team for that, just really wishing they allow us to toggle this crap on or off

Forget my stupid ide with a vibrating controller for full pressure just desperate here to not seeing this big meters on the ice. There is no other way just have the option to turn it off please. This should be a thing for the EA team to prio because everywhere i read fans complain on this subject.

Why is artificial momentum a thing to begin with though? You get the same affect If the chemistry is there and they’re actually moving the puck around instead of throwing it into the slot, turning it over, rinse and repeat.
Same on D, if the entire team is scrambled and out of position, adding an additional artificial hindrance just doesn’t make sense. Who is asking for/demanding stuff like this? How about we go back to focusing on hockey?
- KlariskraysNHL2 years agoHero@BellisJ01 They are doing their best to replicate real hockey momentum where a team is buzzing in the zone. So while you look at it as artificial the intention to represent how things unfold in the real life sport.

I'm not getting this game until you turn off the meter and put in the same controls from 23. All I've heard is this year's game is a disaster.

The opponent skates the puck into my zone and all of a sudden I start getting tired like I'm sprinting on a treadmill, it's kinda stupid.

You can still use the Skill Stick controls, but protect puck was moved from the A/X button. Otherwise, the controls are the same.
- rsandersr472 years agoSeasoned Ace@KlariskraysNHL I don't think I've ever seen the defense start to skate slower due to being pinned for a while? Anyone here who has played notice themselves being unable to skate as fast because of being pinned? I mean I could see maybe "awareness" or "passing" dropping some as you're only focused on getting it out..
- 2 years ago@EA_Aljo Yes that and hitting were both changed, they were the worst playing the beta and I see it wasn't changed.

- KlariskraysNHL2 years agoHero@rsandersr47 You have to take it in the way that they been on the ice awhile and feel pressured. It's also to promote people actually playing offense even if winning instead of ragging the puck.

It gives players in the OZone a BUFF, while giving a NERF to guys in the DZone when being "pressured"… Another thing that drifts away from a good organic gameplay… Things that are supposed to happen organically, randomly are gonna be forced down our throats 😣😫

@KlariskraysNHL
I like the intention by adding the pressure thing, people need to take shots more often and if that means EA need to lure people by giving them a boost, so be it.
But to put the meter in the middle of the ice in the o-zone and not being able to turn it off, thats just a brutal error.
Why there? And why not anywhere else? Is the screen already so full so this was the only place left to put it?
It's like putting up a poster in your cars windshield...
Ah, Okey, I think EA got it by now, no more cosmetic fuzz on the ice, we like it crisp and clean. And dosent the pressure thing basically mean when a team is under heavy pressure they also loose more stamina and focus.
Thats how it should be, is it really necessary with a pressure meter telling us that..
- KlariskraysNHL2 years agoHero@PernellKarl027 Oh I know, but they have to try and combat things and promote offense. I say it over and over that offense must reign Supreme. It's what the average person enjoys. But I'm done with dealing. If people don't like it then I guess wait to see what happens for 25 but I'm sure this is staying, but hopefully options to move or remove the on ice images

Out of curiosity, what camera do you all use? I imagine it's a lot more noticeable when using one that's more zoomed in. I play on Zone and barely notice it. So much that I forgot to even check how full the meter is. I get very focused on the gameplay so I'm not even really noticing it until there's a stoppage.

Maybe it’s because you already play with lots of bell and whistles on the ice and one more doesn’t really bother you 🤔😉😆
I mean ZONE is way up there !

I use zone, and I’ve were being honest, I start to block it out as well. What I do find super annoying is the boards all red and looking like Christmas.

No. I turn off as much as I can. The only thing I leave on is the offside warning. Otherwise, the on-ice trainer is completely turned off for me. I use player indicators since those come in pretty handy in WoC. Otherwise, I try to have as much clutter off the screen as possible. I think it's more about where my focus is though. I'm just trying to gather some more feedback on this. It might have to do with camera angles or possibly it's more of an issue with those that want to replicate how a game is broadcasted while watching AI teams play each other. If any of you have any details on this, let me know so I can pass on that feedback.
- 2 years ago@EA_Aljo
So you can say - if people dont even really noticing it, then I really don’t see a point having it there in the first place. - EA_Aljo2 years agoCommunity Manager
I agree. I'd like to see the option to turn it off, but as it is, it's not getting in the way of anything. I totally understand this is just personal preference though so I'm trying to gather some feedback on this to see if there are specific conditions where it's more apparent.
Thanks for the feedback, @BellisJ01. Strangely enough, I'm not noticing the boards, but I see how they can be distracting. My eyes tend to focus on the puck and players so I'm not looking at the boards much, but obviously, this isn't the way everyone operates.
- rsandersr472 years agoSeasoned Ace@KlariskraysNHL I mean haven't the offensive guys also been in the offensive zone for an extended amount of time.. I'd also argue they're moving more if the defense is playing zone. I'd also suggest the incetivises the offense to rag (at least while in offensive zone. It's really just gonna hurt the defense. I mean I'll reserve judgement on my full thoughts until I play it some and the meta has been discovered. I don't mind the idea of it but you can't subtract from speed.. I also wouldn't subtract from what the goalie is able to do..
Me personally, if I were to implement this I would have made a pressure bar at the top.. and if one team has "x" amount of offensive zone pressure they get a buff, at it reaches diff amounts they get more. The other team would have to get sustained offensive pressure to move it in the other direction. This would even more so help teams that have elongated offensive zone time and shots but little to show for it rather than the game being decided by 2 or 3 sustained pressures. Maybe something for them to consider for the future.
