Thanks! Sorry for overreacting. I just worry a lot and want the games to always improve! I will wait a bit more and see how the deep dive reveals go before passing judgment. It sounds like the developers are being more active with the community this year which is a very good sign.
@EA_Aljo @When do we get the news for franchise, BAP mode and the new customization options ?
- @EA_Aljo The trailer specifically says “we’ve added one touch passing” which implies it wasn’t in the game before. Also saying “you can now break the glass and check into bench” implies its new. That’s two highlight features that are/used to be in the game, and are being advertised as new.
It’s a business though I get it, gotta rope people in somehow especially after 23.
Overall, pretty underwhelming trailer, though as an offline player I am not surprised at how underwhelming it was. Animations look a bit better. Still look pretty robotic though in some areas.
The changes to goalies can go either way. Make them worse (which is already hard to do) or make them better, which I’m skeptical about. Each time they tout their changes to goalies as great, they end up being worse lol
When will the “deep dives” drop?
I’m expecting maybe 1 or 2 short paragraphs for FM and BAP each, at best I’m excited about:
-passing (huge problem last year)
-shrugging off checks (I like this because there’s many times where I knew the check was coming and had better body position and thought “hey I’ve seen nhl players avoid checks, I should’ve probably got past him there”
-goalies getting tired (nothing was worse than having a bunch of high percentage shots on a cpu G and they somehow make all the crazy saves.. then the other team scores on weak shots) it’s nice to know the cpu Gs can mess up and mentally get tired like a human would trying to stand on their head
-eashl 16 game playoff instead of club finals
-deep dive reveals (so exciting to learn the ins and outs of the new features)
-I love now that there’s more of a risk to attempt big checks. I thought In 23 it was unfair that you could lay on the ice for 5-10 seconds but the person hitting didn’t get punished at all for mistiming for throwing themselves at you. Now they will pay for trying to charge around the ice.

It's gonna be so fun smashing people into the bench again haha
@EA_Aljo are you able to give me a little something on presentation? It would be cool to have the entire tnt crew in this game! Starting from pre game shows to intermission reports and so on! Is there a new scoreboard at least? Also any word on actual intros and updated goal horns with songs coming back? It would be cool to hear the Vegas intro in my ears!
- SummerOfDekes2 years agoNew AceI'm confused about the goalie teathering system. From the trailer, it looks like if you aren't pushing the left stick, your goalie will automatically move to the middle of the crease. Well, what if the puck is being worked along the boards for an extended period of time and I don't want the goalie resetting his positioning? Are we just gonna have to hold the stick in position to stay on that side of the crease?
Honestly, this teathering system sounds awful. Hopefully I'm wrong and it's great, but I have nothing but low expectations when it involves EA. - @KennyN1220 I would also like to know about presentation. Is it just the same as 23? Did they revert the awful changes? Did the full presentation come back? Broadcast cameras? Everything else they’ve removed lol

https://www.rds.ca/balle-courbe/nhl-...tes-1.17367805 There's aspects that seem cool but I watched and felt worried.
The Good:
They brought back bench hits.
full crossplay
Button passing could be huge. I stopped full team modes when they made changes to character selection many years ago. If you can change defensive characters with a button change as well that could entice me to trying out ovp or something.
They used game play footage. Actual game play footage not just an entire trailer of 'in engine footage'
The Bad:
The amount of times you see the CPU defender just skating backwards at loose pucks or just skating next to the puck carrier without doing anything was the first thing I noticed.
Defensive nerfs coupled with puck carrier ability gains is a major downer. Is defense so oppressive to the devs that it must always be taken down a peg while offense is given new ways to do everything and defense gets told your hits might actually lay people out for longer but they now have the innate ability to reverse that hit and it feels like the hit bubble is going to be a feature rather a bug.
X-Factors still exist.
The Undecided:
exhaust engine. I don't love the idea of offense getting a boost but I get defense getting a penalty. Can't speak positively or negatively towards it without playing with it first though.
Human goalie changes. Could be good and maybe make the role even slightly fun or interesting to play, probably doesn't but it would be very good if it does.
if we have physics based hits now what did we have before?
