The "exhaust engine" is really bothering me.It is very arcadey. The "power meter" on the ice is very obnoxious and not the least bit authentic or realistic. I feel like this sort of mechanic belongs in Street Fighter, not NHL 24.More importantly, this "issue" could easily be addressed by just making fatigue more prominent. Your line is caught out there hemmed in your zone, the other team gets change and fresh players, and then you're in trouble because your line is tired and theirs isn't. Make the speed penalty for fatigue way higher - especially when it's in the "red", wherever that is determined to be - and maybe even add in some hunched over/barely moving skating animations. It will be hard to get the puck out of the zone, you will try to get a cover with your goalie or an off-the-glass and out. You arrive at the same outcome as the "exhaust" engine, without the gimmicky, arcadey stuff. And it requires the offensive team to get fresh legs, which the "exhaust engine" is completely missing.Likewise, goalies could have a fatigue bar too, that goes down with lots of shots/movement, goes up between faceoffs and between periods.Again, same outcome, done more authentically/realistically, no gimmicky/arcadey stuff. I guess "improved fatigue engine" isn't as marketable as "exhaust engine". Its kind of insulting that EA thinks hockey as a sport is so boring that we need "special move power bars" in the game.

@SoupyNuttzAre you sure I don’t remember that at all. @EA_Aljo are you able to answer if we are going to have custom goalie masks that we can make? Also when is the discord going to be available?

@wsoulia If it wasn't talked about in the clip then you will have to wait for either a roadmap of the deep dives and what they will cover or simply whenever they do the deep dives.

As I have said multiple times now, I don't have any other details other than what has already been announced.

@KennyN1220It's one of those things you have to wait and see. As for the official Discord it will be announced when ready most likely via Twitter and then forums.
Can only talk about things in the video even if he knows more information.

@KennyN1220 I'd guess as much the Deep Dives will start to come end of the month and/or right after the Technical Test happens end of the month. You should sign up to get an idea of the changes and feel of the game.

Safe, board and out play. Cool add.

The pace and the control looks so much smoother.

Also cool you land a hit, you get rewarded by more room on ice, because the time it takes for the player that got hit to get back in play is slower, but also the other way, you miss a check and you give away much room to the opponent. I dont know, heard nothing about it in this trailer but someone mention it before that you can fall on the ice if you poke check too careless, if that also true, should mean theres a big risk to both spam hits and poke checks, this should add tons of fun and room on ice. Imagine a game without spam and L'ting..

I also love that EA try to encourage shots. 👏

Stretch and breakaway passes, always something the defending team need to be aware of..

If I mix all these new stuff in my head and try to imagine what tomorrow will bring.. Then I really like the picture.

It will be fun to follow this one closer as time goes.
