This has nothing to do with forcing people to use the new Total Control scheme. Personally, I'm sticking to skill stick because I've had a hard time adapting to Total Control and not clicking down on the right stick, but it's getting better. I'm adapting to it.
I truly feel terrible for those with mobility issues that can't use the new controls. I imagine that was one of the deciding factors for bringing the Hybrid controls back. We certainly don't want to alienate those players.
As far as this goes to those that are not disabled though, this game is vastly different than it was in 1994. Those controls were great when you had a very simple control scheme. In 2023 that's just not the case as there are far more functions now. Every time something new gets added, it somehow needs to be mapped to legacy controls. Then we have to also take in to account exploits. Such as how backskating with protect puck was abused. So, that needs to be mapped to something else. We can't have old controls where this is still possible since that defeats the purpose of removing this exploit. Quite simply though, this game isn't meant to be played with a Sega Genesis controller when it's made to support modern hardware. Again, in the case of disabled players, I wish we had a simplified control scheme for you all to use. Hopefully, the Hybrid controls will still let many of you play.
You act as if we did this to be malicious. Which absolutely is not the case.

Ea, please !
You are hiding behind a monumental error. No, the hybrid is not a set to be used for the
disabled.
The majority of my team, top 100
in the world, used the hybrid, none are
handicapped!!!
On the other hand, why is it
not possible to configure our controller like
FIFA? (We need to evolve guys!)
At the end of October, here we are.
the people who paid for the game because
of your lie are getting impatient.
The customer must be respected.

I wish you a good day. I hate that the hybrid driver is removed. As I read in the topic that it should be available at the end of October, this driver is great. Can I ask for the relevant date and how to proceed? Or just update the game in PS4?
I've been a fan for about 20 years and I'm really saddened by the inability and reluctance to play NHL 24

I'm also Cech and I've been playing NHL for over 20 years and I haven't even played it without hybrid control yet.

I'd be careful feeling bad for EA. Each year the game has got progressively worse. The same thing goes for Madden. I can understand If EA makes certain small changes each year to keep the game fresh but this is not the case. EA is going backwards. The games 20 years ago from EA were siginficantly better and the only thing keeping EA afloat is the next gen consoles and the graphics and visuals otherwise gamers would abandon EA alltogether and stick with the old games. EA is doing nothing as it's the nex gen consoles. EA is going full on arcade and has ruined everything. Us old gamers want authentic simulation and at this point there's no hope for it. In fact, the difference between NHL and Madden on nex gen and old gen is still so marginal 3 years after the fact that at this point EA is ripping off people with the higher game prices. At this point, there is no trust in EA to bring real innovative change to their games that count. The funny thing is EA brought back nhl 94 last year as a 25 year anniversary and a year later they removed the 94 controls. Nothing EA does at this point makes any sense. I would not feel bad for them the slightest.
