I know this has been mentioned more than a few times here and EA is aware. 🙂
But I would just like to bump and reiterate that AI goalies are in a bad place. The last few weeks playing out the string has really hammered this home.
-they are currently too leaky, especially in situations with no screen, no lateral movement, and not a high danger scoring area. I understand those factors can increase chance for a goal and that's logical. I'd prefer if they got an across the board upgrade (maybe not on cross crease), but especially in low danger situations.
-they overreact to any situation when a puck is blocked or tipped. I am talking situations where the puck might skim a defenders leg and change the angle 1 degree (aka miniscule) or if the puck is blocked entirely and is no longer heading to the net. Both situations will often result in them on their rear, flopping like a fish. Changes of angle should result in a scramble if the goalie finds himself out of position, but they need to be better at reading that. Currently it's desperation mode too easily. Inject a little more ice water in those veins!
