they should also add a “start in offseason” mode to franchise.
as well as:
-coaches challenges.
-ability to game plan an opponent.
-practice mode for franchise mode. It’s super annoying that you can’t practice plays/schemes before a game.
-in-depth animations for pregame/intermission/postgame. their animations are sloppy and too quick. it’s 10 seconds or less from load screen to puck drop.
-more realistic commentary, based on each team. Rather than the same generic lines, like “one of the best rock bands from the 80’s is performing at intermission.” Are you kidding lol.
-ability to have taxi squads.
-free agency interviews.
-the ability to coax players out of retirement. you touched on that above.
-add a feature that allows you to call other GM’s to propose a trade. How insanely immersive would it be to pull up a phone and text another GM to get the ball rolling on a trade. Then after, have an NHL Network animation pop up discussing the trade. That’s probably never going to happen, but it would be sick.
the game as it stands is too arcade. The gameplay is decent, but everything else is absolutely bland.
for 25, i wish they would go a different direction with HUT
Each years, there is a lot of fun to have with HUT, until rosters get stacked with 92 + overall. Then, the game become so much cheese / arcade play.
I wish they would introduce a HUT with the same gameplay tuning we have in Versus, more sim oriented. Also, to have coherent teams (real 3rd and 4th lines) they could add some rules with max overall, or X number of silver player required. Then we would have to really manage a "team". Give us objective to unlock player we really want for our team, and make us do hard choice on wich good player will be on it. (after january, every 90 or less card feels like crap with the current way it is played).
They could create cards that reflect player trough their carreer (a young Gilmour first liner, and a old one low overall but still good for a capped 4th line).
I mostly play HUT and EASHL, and each time i decide to play a VS game, i find the gameplay tuning so much more better (IASIP joke) Would be awesome to have realisitic sim play with my friends on EASHL to!
