Only thing I care about is the pressure meter. Are we still unable to disable it? If so, I'm still not buying the game. And I'm not ever buying an EA NHL game again until they remove that thing.
- Juhani_91_911 year agoSeasoned Ace@SvenArne123 The pressure meter was stupid add to the game. I hope, that remove. But is lot of things, what should add to the game. Here few example
- Possibility to choose option "none " from "play by play "list for to created player.
- Possibility to use numbers in the team name.
- More jersey styles to the team creation.
- The masks of a few Liiga teams should be update. IFK, HPK, Lukko and TPS have changed their logos over ten years ago and EA Sports has not update masks. For example when Pelicans and swedish team Frölunda changed logo, EA Sports create immediately new mask for them. - @Juhani_91_91 I agree. Numbers in team name would be great for creating vintage teams from specific seasons like "Detroit Red Wings '97" etc. Creation zone needs to be upgraded in general, it's getting really old having the exact same jersey styles and arenas, for the 8th year in a row. It's also really annoying how all the fans for the created teams wear the team colors creating a "sea of red/blue/green" whatever your team colors are. Doesn't look realistic at all.
However as long as the pressure meter is there the game is completely unplayable to me anyway so until they give us the option to remove it I won't buy the game no matter what else they add to it. I was pissed enough last year when they removed full presentation but that pales in comparison to them adding something I hate and that I can't turn off like this pressure meter thing. - RatedxPGxEnigma1 year agoSeasoned Ace@SvenArne123 I get where you're coming from but You cant and you won't. EA considers it a big selling point so we're stuck w/ it for 24. I'll say it's impact has been super nerfed, especially since last update. There are bigger problems than the pressure system anyways that deserve higher priority (AI Awareness, especially on D-Men)

Regarding the Extra Padding x-factor, do one timers count as slap shots?
- Juhani_91_911 year agoSeasoned Ace@SvenArne123 Possibility use numbers in the team name not be new thing, actually we were able to use numbers in the team name yet in NHL17, but after that EA Sports has remove this possibility. I don't why they do that, because we can still use numbers in the team nickname, abbserviation and arena name.
EA Sports has little bit update creation zone to NHL 24, but mainly updates are in player creation. For example now we can create player, what is under 170 cm tall and we can change the color of the face mask. Changes are small, but they are step to right way.
You're right, creation zone should totaly update. Like you said, there has been same the jersey styles for to years already. In additon there has been, the same ten arena styles, which has been there since NHL 17. - darkryd3r1 year agoSeasoned Veteran
thanks for the patch👍
Looking forward to jumping again into the boards as a celebration. Also I like that the trigger for the manual gpal celebrations has been improved🫶
@EA_Aljo just one little thing I have noticed:
is there a reason why the jersey of the Vancouver Canucks do not show up the sponsors? Neither on home jersey and helmet nor on away helmet. Will it be patched or is it a licensing issue? Maybe you have some information or you can pass it on. Thanks🍻

If they take a one timer with a full windup, it's a slapshot. Otherwise, it's more of a catch and release and can be a wristshot/snapshot.

As you mentioned, that's a licensing issue.

Goalies have been terrible for a couple of years now, hopefully this patch is the first step towards fixing them.
@EA_Aljoquick question about the changes to push checks in front of the net. In 3v3 club games there are no cross-checking penalties. Will this change introduce them, or will defenders be able to spam the push check without worrying about taking penalties in this mode?
This is from the patch notes:
"However, multiple push checks within a short time frame, regardless of distance to net, can result in Cross Check penalty."Yes, you'll still take cross-checking penalties when spamming shoves.
- @RatedxPGxEnigma I doubt it gets removed from NHL 25 either. Now I would expect the ability to shrink and/or hide the stuff better will be implemented I would like to believe.

Does this patch affect offensive players getting interference penalties when trying to shoot in front of the net?

Lets be honest with ourselves in saying that if they add numbers to club names, than people will 1000% make alternate ways of using inappropriate and hateful club names. After all, they already do with the tools they are given right now. Adding numbers would create just more opportunities to see them in your game. The bad people ruin it for the good ones unfortunately.
"The defending team can push check and knock down their opponent within [20ft] of the net with reduced risk of drawing an interference penalty."
I'll see how this plays out, but if I'm understanding this correctly, I can already envision truculent/hip-check hitters abusing it to take people out of the play when they are nowhere near the puck. Anyone within 20 feet of the net waiting for a pass or getting into position is just going to be targeted.
"Community Feedback: Recent changes increased the chance of getting called for a penalty when Push Checking in front of the net. Defensemen want a way to clear the net, allowing for better defending in close proximity to the crease to prevent screens/deflections/tap ins."
Clear the front of the net. In close proximity. To me that's a few feet around the crease, not 20 feet.
I'd rather have stick/body tie ups improved.
Instead of lifting the stick way up in the air (using the "automatic penalty button"), you can engage and push off a player to move them out of screening position or pin their stick down to prevent a deflection. You can already "engage" with "net battle", though it is touchy. Make it easier to engage and allow follow ups from that position, either using the analog to "shove" a player (moving them a foot or two and ending the engaged state) or a "stick lift" which pins their stick for a couple of seconds before also ending the engaged state.
More thought may need to be put into it, but it accomplishes what is required without giving players free reign to take out attacking players.
- @RicochetII Yeah I'm thinking the same when it comes to the checking in front of the net. I mean if I can just plow someone over and wait like 10 seconds to do it again i will drain them of their energy and make life easier. But let's hope it doesn't allow for the abuse.

Unfortunately, not. It's still being investigated.

But let's hope it doesn't allow for the abuse.I think both of you are mistaken here. This only applies to the shove. Nobody is going to be able to "just plow someone over". If you use a shoulder check (down/up or hold B/Circle and release) you're still going to get called for interference.
This change is in good in that now you can use little shoves to force players waiting for a one-timer to adjust. You'll also be able to clean the net-front of players looking for deflections. But you'll need to time it right so as not to do it too much and still get a penalty.
Like I said, I will see how it plays out, but you don't always need to use a big hit to take someone down and there's still the question of hip checks.
Either way it's legalizing interference too far from the net.

IMO, a hip check is considered a 'big check'. A shoulder check is a 'big check' and a shove is a shove. You cannot knock someone down with just a shove.
That being said, I do believe if your player has sufficient speed/momentum, you can knock someone down in coordination with a shove - so it will be interesting to see how these changes take that into account.
Aside from the potential of speed/momentum not being considered in the new settings, I don't believe this is "legalizing interference". This is actually giving defenders another tool in their belt to help defend against constant cross-creases from one dimensional players. It also gives defenders a tool in helping mitigate deflection hunters.
In addition to those tools being added for defenders, this will force those on offense to time their cross-creases better so as not to be hampered by a defender shoving the recipient.
More tools on defense, more responsibility on offense. We'll see how it all plays out, but these are things the community has been clamouring for.
- BoredJason131 year agoSeasoned Veteran@RatedxPGxEnigma I’m really hoping in 25 AI awareness (offensive & defensive) is better. Along with better presentation on offline modes

I’m interested to see how the goalies play out now but this game became such a chore to play that I’ve honestly stopped. I’m hoping 25 doesn’t feel like a burden to play

I'm hoping we see for NHL 25 the implementation of the NHL Edge tracking system into the players AI. Their speed, strides, turning, shot tendencies, etc. I think this would make more skaters feel different from each other than they do right now.

Problem with the pressure system is that its completley one sided. There is zero reward for defense wich sucks it needs to be balanced severly. You get absolutley nothing for doing good d things, checking, good pokes clearing the zone all you get is tired.

It's basically non existent now. Hits fill it up quicker now but everyone skates back when they see you load up a hit so the hitting is pretty dead in this game.

Played my first game in months. Was excited based on patch notes.
Now the goalies are absolute sieves, the defense never got fixed and pass interceptions are absolutely useless and the game seems even more catered to offense.
I'm blown away at how bad this game is tuned online.

Game feels the same to me ,the puck flip is still nerfed which I still find absolutely ridiculous that a defensive tool is still nerfed
