Just to give you an example of this problem. I am 38 games into my first franchise season. I have been short handed 137 times. The next closest team has been short handed 44 times. Most of the penalties I receive are usually away from the puck, and are usually for interference. This happens at least 5 times a game in most instances. Feels like I am playing short handed for half the game.
- @EA_Aljo I'm confirming that this is happening. Way too many interference and boarding penalties.
I've already played 3 offline games and I'm been called for 27 penalties, all of which were either boarding or interference.
I have the CPU teammate penalty slider set to 0 and all of a sudden, I have computer teammates taking penalties. That just never happened in previous years. Has this been truly fixed? Franchise mode with using a hybrid controls is pretty much unplayable. I can’t take a faceoff without getting a penalty. I don’t like playing 5 on 3 for a full game. I have version 1.3.0.0 installed.

I also have the same issue... it's unplayable. If the game is unplayable then i demand my cash back! I have also played fifa and it's the same there... bugs, bugs, and more bugs. If a company can't fix bugs after 6 months then that company shouldn't be allowed to sale games for 50-80€.
- @EA_Aljo Never realized you replied and thanks.. I posted in October it’s now April.. it’s still happening.. I like the idea that you want to see this, but that’s a lot for me to go thru all this work to upload a YouTube video, instead of just take my word for it and everyone else who commented below. I even put interference all the way down on. The slider and it still happens. Just play a game, lose a faceoff and change your guy to try to steal the puck, you’ll see immediately you’re flagged for interference but teammate ai, and he doesn’t even really do anything
- @EA_Aljo If it’s really necessary for me to upload for a change I will, but to make me do all that and never see a different result would * me off, to be honest. This happens EVERY GAME SEASON AND FRANCHISE! Like 8 times a game sometimes 5 times back to back.. it’s making the game unfun and unplayable. Hence why I posted originally in October and am back in April. As a life long hockey player and fan of nhl since 2001 ps2 it’s disappointing to see great changes made in one part to be offset by awful gameplay situations like these
- @EA_Aljo Someone below also made the point it’s ONLY USING HYBRID CONTROLS, didn’t seem that way when I first started the game, tho that may be true.. if it’s not fixed in 24 fix it in 25.. I’d hate to never play nhl again because I literally CANT ACTUALLY get through a game

As a test, can you switch to Skill Stick or Total Control to see if it still happens?
I will change to different control settings and get back to you… thanks for your attention… if you absolutely NEEEEED it I will video for you, but just before I do that, let me add that I have interference on 0 on the slider and cpu teammate penalty on 1 and it still happens… immediately off a face off, I change my guy to forcheck the opposing defenseman who retains the puck, (so I switch to a winger) and my center accrues an interference without anything even happening.. it’s like both centers jus are trying to skate (and get stuck on each other cuz it is just a video game and can’t be perfect) but that’s when the penalty comes… will get back asap with different controls info

This still happens in Franchise mode, exactly as @MetroSaint617 indicated.
I have Interference penalties at 0, play with hybrid controls, and often still get 2 or 3 interference penalties called directly off the FaceOff for minor contact by centres both trying to skate forward - yet always called on my team and not AI team.
I'm playing at game speed 2 - not sure if that is an issue , but as there are no helpful "Sim / Arcade" basic settings anymore, it's difficult to confirm people are playing with same sliders.
I do know I don't see this issue at all in HUT Moments, Squad Battles or HUT Rush - it's only in Franchise mode.

Thank you for the video. Hopefully, we'll see this addressed in a future game since updates for NHL 24 have completed.
@dsg01 I had the cpu players on my team in season take 15 penalties in one period, with the slider set on 1. Sad when better technology results in increasingly worse games.
