EA Servers HAS TO FIX THEIR GOALIES. 7 shots on either one of them and 5 goals allowed!!? The only thing that is gonna make people quit playing this game is watching EVERY SiNGLE shot go in with or without dekeing Wagner or Leighmann. It’s horrific. Please fix this ASAP. If anything make it the same goalie, same stats for home and away teams. Just DO SOMETHING FAST. I love this game but it’s about to make me and 100s of other people uninstall it.
It’s like that in offline as well. Playing franchise mode and both my goalies are sub .900 save percentage even though I lead the league in wins. Absolutely bonkers I just don’t get it
I'm offline only and am over halfway through my second season in franchise and playing on high difficulty, both of my goalies have a sub 2.00 GAA and I have had one game the whole season where I scored more then 6 goals in a game.
I have had many games now with a goalie that has silver abilities; who stole games stopping 35 of 37 shots or something. Plus I have seen some pretty insane save sequences of saves for both my goalie and the AI team goalie. Is there still chances for weak goals that hit off the glove, blocker or pad? Yes, those do happen but goalies in the NHL let in bad goals, even the good ones.
So I am not sure why but the experience I have with goalies in NHL 25 is different then others.
I wish I was seeing 35-40 shots a game against. I could then live with giving up 3-4 goals a game. It’s only been 15-20. But it’s soft goals from the pads not being on the ice, to shots from underneath the goal line going through the arm and in. Yes it does happen every now and again in real life but once every two games is anger inducing. It’s funny how I try and keep all of the shots out of the slot and yet from every terrible angle they like to find their way in
I can't tell you why mine are different. Average shots per game usually range from 15-30 shot for the AI team and 20-35 for my team, depending on the team and how good or bad they are, or how good or bad that I'm playing. My team GAPG is below 2.00 as well for my season at 54 games (so I'm somehow getting very good goaltending from both goalies). I don't change a ton of the sliders and play on superstar difficulty.
There is games where the AI goalie or mine will allow 3 goals on 6 shots - it can either go that they settle down and end the game with 20+ shots and not let anymore in or let in another 1 or 2 and I pull them.
Its hard to determine what goalies can or will save in game or in real hockey. How many times do you see goalies get beat on the post cause they are not hugging it or moved for a second before the shot was made.
I am not saying the Goalies are amazing or perfect. I was just able to find a way (after years and years of adjusting sliders and difficulty) that worked for me and how I play hockey in NHL.
That’s one of my biggest gripes. I don’t want to sit there and mess with sliders all the time. I expect it to be fine the way they are
Sadly, it's not usually the best experience to get when you don't. I know that feeling of games that make no logical sense - back in NHL 22 when there was games I would outshoot the AI team 37-7 and lose 4-3. It was around that time I started to change the sliders around to try and make it closer to how it is now for me. I also changed how I play the game and adjusted to a more real game style, try to figure what the AI will do and use that in my favor, which has also seemed to help.
I still can't figure out the penalties, not well enough to not break the rest of the flow of the game. So for now I live with 1 or 2 a game by the AI on average.
