Hitting is horrendous. Guys slide off bodychecks like it's nothing. Shoves don't do anything.
Defensemen ate capped at around 92 or 93 speed while forwards can get to 95 speed without any boosts. Bs. Stop handicapping defense. If forwards can be fast and offensive, why can't defense be fast and defensive? EDIT: First part I was incorrect on. Defense aren't capped at lower speeds, per se.
Every half decent chance is a goal. The goalies are straight up horrendous.
Vision control on defense is useless. Doesn't do anything at all.
What a miss.
I second the hitting part. Shoves do absolutely nothing, super frustrating.
Shoves and hitting are not a problem. The problem is I imagine you are trying to hit with those meta 6'1" 160 PMD builds that's considered meta for EASHL. Try experimenting with a bigger build and see how that works. It seems from first glance, that you will actually need bigger builds to hit otherwise use little builds and stick to things like poke checking and stick lifts (which are very good!).
This is simply UNTRUE. I play Online Versus pretty much exclusively and shoving definitely still works but I think it's just more realistic now. It seems like smaller players aren't able to perform completely BS shoves to the back of your player while you're skating AWAY from them and knock the puck loose for an easy steal. That was always BS and I'm kinda happy it isn't happening as much.
Also, the egregious speed-boost hitting seems to be gone from what I can tell so now you have to be more careful lining up hits AND you have to take player size into account (which was something you could ignore last year).

This is correct. Body positioning and thus, body stats (height, weight) play a far more important role in '25 than it did previously. Although with proper positioning, timing and speed - you can still knock the puck off of any player using any other player - using smaller players only increases the dependency on attributes and results in more misses.
I like this. It opens the game up.
