Well, since that thread "mysteriously" disappeared, I'll repost it here:
NHL 25: It's a no for me.
Regardless of my "veteran" status, since NHLPA '93 for the SNES, my current compete level doesn't matter. And it seems that the random teammates that are on my team(s) compete level doesn't matter, either. I mean, going 3-17-0, in Threes Eliminator, and 0-3-0, in EASHL as a goalie (9.84GAA, 0.62 save %) whilst getting matched against team names/clubs, isn't exactly a fun online experience. And unfortunately, this is what the current trend is, especially over the last several years.
If you're playing online, and whether it's Threes Eliminator, EASHL 3v3 or 6v6, or any other mode that includes being pooled in amongst other online players, then it should be randoms vs randoms and team names/clubs vs team names/clubs. Oh, and I know full what I'm doing in this hockey video game, but a slightly higher ping, and not being in a team/club shouldn't make my online experience this freaking miserable.
Now, admittedly, I've played roughly 6 hours of the 10 hour trial. But that's long enough to realize that regardless of my experience, and regardless of my compete level, I'm constantly at an online disadvantage for a simple game. I just don't get it why my player and goalie numbers are getting worse, along with much less wins, more losses, etc. And this is over the last several years. Hmmmm....
Anyway, if this game ever graces my PS5 again, as I've deleted the trial, it'll be at a heavily discounted price ($89.99+tax CAD is way over priced, especially for such a lacklustre effort). I'm guessing around Christmas time when NHL 25 maybe making its full debut. But then again, it'll be after seeing the reviews, videos, etc., because EA Sports now have to earn my money. As it's no longer a given, especially after this many years of disappointment and consumer betrayal.
