I get it; seeing a moose or a beaver playing hockey can break the immersion of club play.
But what I think should be kept in mind that is this is the EASHL, not the NHL. There needs to be some replayability and for a lot of dopamine-fueled players in the target demographic, being able to customize your player to get the most attention is what makes a game 'replayable' to them. When they see themselves playing as a moose, knowing that people notice them - that's what brings these kinds of gamers back to the game.
And I think EA tries to find a balance. The Moose/Beaver players, while retaining their animal skins, are forced to wear the club jerseys in club games. Yes, it's a little odd at first seeing this kind of customization - but once you see it a few times, the novelty wears off and honestly, I see anyone who uses those models as just another attention seeker.

Exactly. People love the attention they think they're getting. So if people are enjoying how stupid it looks because of the attention they get.. then it stands to reason the customizations are in fact 'fun' for those people.

The whole point of clubs is to play videogame hockey as a team with your friends. EASHL is exactly that.

Refuse to believe it all you want - the people who make this game are telling you that's how it works. So if you want to get the most out of your AI, it's best to pay attention.
A player skating right by your DMan means that player was able to generate enough speed through the neutral zone to cause the Dman to be out of step, forcing them to pivot and lose speed, allowing the player to cruise right by them. 100% realistic. You need to shut speed down in the neutral zone - not AFTER the player has already crossed your blue line. Honestly - some of you who repeat the complaint "everyone just burns by our D" are basically saying, "We don't forecheck, we puck chase through the neutral zone and allow our opponents to generate dominant speed"
